Why GPU prices are NOT likely to drop significantly EVER!

Get in there, 3060 Ti is a good card, will you be overclocking it ?

I think I lost the silicone lottery on this one, was artifacting with just +125 on core.. however I can whip the OC score in timespy with an aggressive undervolt (-160 curve +105 @ 975mv +1000 mem).

Undervolting is actually a lot more fun than I though it would be, although I still don't fully understand the intricacies :D

Is that the non OC Zotac if it is you should be able to overclock the core + 175 two friends got the non OC`s same has me and they all do +175 stable with power +110% in Msi afterburner.

Okay an another UPDATE:

GPU Prices-
3090 £2000
3080ti £1400
6900xt £1400
3080 £1200
6800xt £1100
3070ti £870
6700xt £700
3060ti £590
3060 £490
6600xt £420

These are the lowest prices I found for bargain basement models so average prices are much higher.
Some small drops of 50 or 100 pounds for bargain basement models.
DON'T use FE card data as not really significant.
3090 seems to have gone up to 2K for bargain basement models!
GPU average prices NO real change after another 5 weeks except increase on 3090.

There could be Food shortages soon!
Prices of oats and cooking oil are in world record territory!

Jim Rogers billionaire and trading legend has in the last few weeks said the US markets could crash soon just as I've been saying!
Here's an excerpt "Friday, August 27, 2021 - As you know, markets everywhere have been going through the roof. It has been unprecedented because
we have had so much money printing by central banks all over the world.
I am not good at market timing but I am sure it is going to come to an end some time in the next few months. This has never happened before."
You can read the full article on Jim Rogers blog if you want.

Hopefully both Jim and I are wrong as the huge amounts of funny money escaping the markets would go into commodities to avoid the inflation
and evaporation of paper wealth, so then no food in stock or other items as all this funny money that was parked in stocks suddenly tries to buy up
everything in sight!

When a 4080 launches a year or so from now we'll be still in the commodity shortage upcycle so expect a 1.5 or 2k price tag at real street prices.

We all know nvidia made a huge mistake pricing the 3080 at £649, I doubt we’ll see that sort of competitiveness again.

Expect the **80 range to start higher when the 4000 series cards are released.

I don’t think they’ll go mad like they did with the 2080Ti pricing but you never know.

The 3080 was priced around the level that 80 non ti cards usually are but what was different was the performance it offered and being on a GA102. You see had it not been for RDNA2 then we would have got a 3080 on a GA104 with the performance level of a 3070.

Yup, they basically made the 3080 just too good! A proper 4k/120hz card when that should have been super premium territory. If you have one you better make it last :D

A few downgraded from the unicorn and cashed in, depending on which way you spin it. I think @TNA done good, unless the 4080 releases @ £1999 will it have been a bad move! :p

4070 I recon will be £500 at most and will offer around the performance of your 3090 but with better RT. Won’t have as much VRAM though obviously, but as long as it has minimum 12GB it should be fine.

With the 4080 it is hard to tell how they will price that, might be similar again due to competition from AMD. I am guessing it will be £699 if there is competition (which seems likely) or £799 if not. That will obviously have better performance than your 3090. If it is £699 or below I may just grab it.

I just realised what TNA stands for, ****'N'Ass :D :p
I do like both :D

You really didn't put much effort into this did you? The cheapest in stock 6900XT is £1199.99 at the suppliers I am watching. OCUK recently wiped 16% off the price of one model overnight - see the post here https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/posts/35106038, referring to historical prices for that model.

Nah it was poor value for money a xx80 non ti card should never cost £650. A ps5 or xbox series x is what I call good value for money.

We all just have to wait and see where this madness leads. I predict a major correction sooner or later.

I thought this too. For some reason Jensen convinced people since his kitchen studio days that these cards offer amazing value! The 3080 was their flagship card at the time!

Yes it offered better performance than the previous best card (2080Ti) out of the box, but the price was only good as that card was ridiculously overpriced. Once release happened it was insta-out-of-stock. Its a decent card but these prices are not decent, ever!

Yes, I never considered the 3080 good value at launch. Nor the 6800 even though I liked the 16GB (I tend to play heavily mod'ed games and unfortunately unlike official releases most modders don't take VRAM into account).

I think the whole shortage has made people go crazy and mad if they actually get an overpriced card near to MSRP.

Prices aren't going down ATM, though as ComputerBase's second Sept 21 tracking isn't good news:

Converted into something a bit easier to read:

Looks like those overpriced 6600 XT at launch were as good as it got outside of FE models (haven't looked but in theory in German they should be able AMD references models too).
