Why is AMD quiet about black screens on 290x?

What a strange post mate. Are you still getting black screens or not?

What he is probably saying is that he only gets them when he pushes the vram too hard. It doesnt affect him at stock speeds and since the new driver update his memory probably is clocking abit higher before he gets a blackscreen.?

Can anyone confirm whether this new beta driver removes overdrive option in CCC?

I've installed it and I still have the performance / overdrive settings.

Edit, I did install it over the top of 9.2 so maybe thats why its still there.

I installed these over the old beta 9.2's and still have the performance tab. I just rebooted after installed the new ones.

It's actually got a new slider in there now for memory clock (I cant remember seing this on beta 9.2) and the fan speed now shows at 47% (290 pro) default settings.

It definitely removes the tab.
I got around it by installing the CCC from the 9.2 betas.

It still black screened with any sort of memory overclock though.
That is until I changed to the lower DVI-D port and now it doesn't black screen on Heaven 4.0 (at least so far) whereas before it was a guaranteed black screen - it's so weird :/

Okay I think I found a way to solve my specific problem (which is that my monitor loses signal, but the game still runs in the background). Previously I had to reduce the core clock to 920MHz.

Now I found that reducing both the core voltage and aux voltage to -44 (I keep the Power Limit at +50), I can play at stock clocks. I have tested BF4, Assassin's Creed 4 and Batman Arkham Origins and no loss of signal to my monitor yet.

Does this mean it's definitely a driver problem for me and not hardware? I really don't want to rma this card.
