Why you SHOULD be using Firefox

Been on FF for what must be 20 years, never see it this bad, constant single tab crashes, constant multiple tab crashes, I've had to move my POE1 set up onto another browser, I'm not running out of RAM by the way.

None of the updates are fixing this issue.

It's very rock steady for me, and they've just fixed a video issue that's been annoying me for a while (stuttering in a pop out window when you mouseover another video and trigger two playbacks at once). Have you tried a clean install with no add-ons to test? I've seen weird behaviour in the past that goes away with a clean install or problems caused by a misbehaving add-on.

I struggle to decide on my main browser, they all seem as bloated as each other, generally the computers can of c ourse handle bloat, but still, gigabytes of ram eaten by any of them these days.

I feel like modern websites are just as much to blame, YouTube and Reddit for example are pretty heavy sites with a lot of unnecessary animations and effects.

After playing with Firefox nightly, the biggest thing niggling me are the forced colours. I use the light theme in Firefox and I don't mind the light gray look on the tab bar and buttons. Firefox nightly seems to enforce a rainbow of colours, whether you want them or not.

v157 out today

Firefox's biggest visual refresh in years is now available, with a modernized look across the browser toolbars, sidebar, menus and individual features, built with our updated design system.

I guess Nova is finally stable. Didn't like the bright borders but looking at the theme section the Ash theme made colours more similar to the previous style's dark mode.

Although I really am not a fan of the round tabs...

I feel very much the same. I've gone for the Ash theme and I'm also not a fan of the rounded tabs - in fact, everything being round. What does a colour at the top of Firefox bring to the table, let alone rounded buttons etc?

My next little niggle is the little timer/clock on the bottom right of the favicons, when you click the address bar and you see previously viewed sites.

Cheers. I don't mind the new style too much, but I just don't see the point of it. Even more so since it takes up more space up the top for me for zero reason (which just gets on my nerves).

I wonder how long until they remove the setting.
