Right, I have sorted it. What a ******* PITA that was!

If you are using W7 and use the DropBox batch file and it complains you don't have the KB detailed in my post above then you can get it here:

I recently used the batch file to fix the issue I've been having. Do you know if the changes it makes to your registry are cause for concern? Also, if I was to reformat my PC after reserving my copy of Windows 10, would I have to reserve Windows 10 again and does a reformat clean your registry as well?

Do they send you a download link by e-mail? If so, then do what you like. Otherwise you'll need to keep things as they are until you can make an ISO to do a fresh install.

I couldn't find my windows 7 install disk so I just installed the preview instead. So i'll just stay on preview and nothing will change?

No, the Preview expires shortly after release.

You will need to reinstall 7 and then upgrade it to 10.

u could download the win7 media then use your key

I can't find my key or the disk. They were together.. Now god knows where they are. Can I get my key from online somewhere?

I really didn't like Windows 8 at all.

Is 10 more of the same or is it s combination of the best bits from 7 and 8 with new features on top?

give it a try, install it on to virtualbox or some other virtual machine software then you don't loose your current os and can get rid of the virtual machine if you don't like it

Yes but I believe Microsoft said you can upgrade the preview version of windows 10 to the final release version through windows update. AFAIK.

With the possibly exception of tablets. I'm yet to be convinced the touch interface is as good in W10 as it is in W8.1.

Only if you installed the preview over an existing 7 or 8.1 installation. You can't do this for clean installs from an ISO, which is what savagesam117 has done.

Could someone with Windows 10 on a test rig do me a big favour. I am nearly blind and use a screen reader. Could 1 of you kind lot test it on 10 and report back if it works in Edge and 10 in general.

Is it a bad sign when you dont have the reserve your copy thing pop up at all, on both of our laptops with 8.1 we dont have it

On both machines we have the update KB3035583 3 times in the list as been installed correctly.
