Windows 10

That's why I getting hundred of junk mail each days on hotmail! Thanks Microsoft!

So you dont want money off all those Nigerian Prince's?? C'mon everybody could do with some Cialis now and again, and how will PayPal constatly inform you that you need to reverify your account details, they even send it from a different domain so it must be extra urgent

LOL Microsoft do not sign up email addresses to stuff. Thats because some ad company hasd got hold of your email address.

Just what I was thinking due to the face that I don't have hotmail anymore and still get 30+ junk emails per day...

More worried about the fact that Facebook and Google seem to know more about my shopping likes/habits than my wife :D;) than the supposed "adverts" in Microsoft products...

There's no such thing as a free lunch.;)

Thought you was moving to Linux bulldog? Decided to stick with Windows?

I use both! LOL ;)

EDIT: Another quick question on Windows activation codes... a lot of these are now incorporated directly into the BIOS these days, rather than printed on a label stuck onto the PC, although they can always be found by using something like the excellent Windows OEM Product Key Tool from NeoSmart Technologies.

So far as we know, will the same key still 'work' with Windows 10, once it has been released, should the user wish to install it from an ISO file, on the same PC?

Can't see why it shouldn't, but I would like to be 100% sure first!

Yes. The key stored in the UEFI BIOS will be automatically detected by the installer and just work. Providing you are installing the correct version of course (i.e a Home key will not work using a Pro install).

If you download the 8.1 Installer from Microsoft and run it on a machine with a UEFI BIOS key, you won't be asked for a key or what version to install, it detects in and does it automatically. Windows 10 will do the same (we expect).

He's going to run illegal hacked versions I expect. He's already posted screenshots of his hacked Enterprise leak. If he does that with RTM then he will get a holiday I expect :p

 illegal hacked version? All my windows 95, 98SE, XP, Vista, 7, 8.1 are genuine licensed. No hacked or illegal.

As for Windows 10, it a preview! How on earth would I hacked it and using it illegal?

I get free upgrade from 8.1 to 10 anyway! :D

Figured id give Windows 10 a try, actually looks okish and runs not too bad, couldnt find drivers for my soundcard but seems the 8.1 drivers work fine on windows 10 for that anyway.

Do have one question, since i upgraded from 8.1 to 10, Realtemp no longer shows up in the notification area, despite it being set to show there - anything that can be done to bring that back?

There are still some really stupid design decisions with regards to basic functions too. It'll take you through the Fisher Price menu, then when the option you're looking for isn't there it'll take you to the menu you were looking for in the first place anyway. Why add unnecessary complexity?
