Windows 10

What codecs are people using with win10, I have some old avi and flv style movie files that will not play under the base install, so what are people using to adjunct the basic installation?

No codecs. I use Daum Potplayer. Packed with settings and supports hardware acceleration. Will play anything.

Hi

Been meaning to ask this question for a while now but after reading a few posts back you may not know

Is win 10 locked to hardware?
I have win 8 retail that got upgraded to 8.1( think it was the free upgrade thing). Can I upgrade to win 10, upgrade mobo, ram n cup at a later date and still do the free upgrade to win 10 again?

MS said it can only reinstall/activate on the same device.

but the license terms on 10240 are saying different....

maybe the free upgrade will have it's own license terms, no idea until after the 29th

is W10 final out now? Or does it download prior to release day so its just ready to be installed/activated through the upgrade platform?

I did a fresh install today from the ISO linked a couple of pages back. If you are already an insider then during install, skip CD key and just log in when complete - works perfectly

Just love the gadget sidebar on Windows 10240 Enterprise.

Love 8GadgetPack, have been using it since Windows 8. Works perfectly on 10 Pro.

Gadgets available in home edition?

It's a program called 8GadgetPack, have been using it for a long time.

Hopefully not. Gadgets looks like a cheap knock-off from some Linux distribution.

I love the gadgets, some so look crap but the ones that monitor the GPU/CPU I find extremely useful. Will never be without them if I can.

Some of my desktop icons will be gone soon, any games I'm still working on are on the desktop, I have quite a few to do :)
