Windows 10

Far prefer the previous build on my laptop, touch screen gestures now don't work on my Ultrabook.

Also, LOL at us English not being worthy of being able to use Cortana now.
Classy, always getting stepped over.

EDIT : Just had an update, gestures work on my Ultrabook now. Not as snappy, might reinstall. Looking good though right now though!

Just from that site if you wanted to force your existing 10 install to update do this:

"If you don’t want to wait for it to download and install on its own – you can go to PC Settings, Update and recovery, Preview builds and click the Check Now button to go get it now."

Cheers downloading now :)

Wow new build out now, downloaded and installed within VMWare.

Found Windows Update was gone in Control Panel as it now moved into Settings/Update & recovery. Nice.

Oh wow look what I just found...

DirectX 12!!! :D

If Intel and Nvidia will release DirectX 12 drivers soon then I definitely will install Windows 10 Build 9926 on hard drive and install DirectX 12 drivers then test out some DirectX 12 demos if people been busy coded demos since last year.

Had a massive mess about.

Uninstalled Intel Drivers on S3 to try and sort Netflix problem.
Tablet just kept restarting and being unresponsive......

Managed to go for a clean Install, my tiles now work as they should, so there's that.

Hopefully I can get Netflix to work.

Urgh, too late for this crap.

EDIT : And no, Netflix app doesn't work.
Urgh.

Managed to get the browser one working.

Please tell me I can get rid of silly start menu and have the start screen back. I can't see the option which used to be there. I don't know why they don't combine the two so you can do what ever you want. Just let me pin live tiles to the desktop. That would be great.

Other than that charms bar still doesn't work if I point to top right hand corner, hasn't worked in any version. I know it works for other people so confused.

Notification area is much improved and generally everything looks a bit nicer.

And whats the catch?
Free to use for one whole year according to that article, i would then presume to continue to use win10 after 12 months you would have to purchase a licence, i'm not keen on microsoft and the push to sell more 'windows apps' along with its XBOX style GUI.

No it's just free.
You have one year to upgrade, then you have to pay. No limit in how many years you can use it for free.

installed the new build on a VM, I do like windows 10 but I have still installed classic shell to replace the windows 10 start menu as once you have removed all the extra stuff it just leaves a big blank area.

from first impressions it doesn't look too bad at all, may need to buy it as I have no windows 7 or 8.1 key to use to upgrade to it for free
