Windows 10

what's this?

I signed in with MS account at setup, as there was no way around it. I then signed out in settings to use local account only and started getting error message (you need to be logged in to use OneDrive)
I uninstalled OneDrive thinking it would solve it but still get the error message upon every reboot.

Any fix for that?

No it's just free.
You have one year to upgrade, then you have to pay. No limit in how many years you can use it for free.

Has that actually been clarified anywhere by anyone at Microsoft? The "free for a year after launch" can be interpreted either way.

:D

I can't imagine too many people will be making that complaint!

Because people are idiots and don't like change.
Desktop is useless it gives me no decent info, and if I want to look at a pretty picture I'll go look at some art. Start menu is pretty horrible especially as you can't place live tiles where you want, with no where near the usefulness of the start screen.

In a perfect world I just want to pin live tiles to the desktop, taskbar at the bottom and pressing the windows button shows the desktop.

I think the new start menu looks crap (As in the one where it's similar to Windows 8 style, it doesn't look the same, I hate it. Whereas I liked Windows 8 style)

No idea why my S3 can't use Netflix App though.

Still downloading and yet to install it. But my first thought is, are they getting rid of the Control Panel in favour of the Settings app? Why? What's so good about the Settings app? Why does it need to be an app?

You can't do everything in settings that I can see (Although I'd like to)

I'm not liking the Start menu either. Even after unpinning all the tripe, it's still massive - as if it to say, pin some stupid apps here.

I don't like all the nags and not being able to uninstall apps or programs quickly or easily. At least when I install Windows 8.1, I can flick to the Start screen Ctrl-click all the apps then uninstall by right clicking. I have to right click and unnstall each app one by one, now.

This build feels like a step backwards. :(

I'm really not a fan of "Search the web and windows" bar. Especially since Cortana's not available.

"Hey guys, check out Cortana in the new build. Unless you're in the UK, then LOL".

Is the Xbox One to PC Streaming capability about yet?

Windows 8.1 to me is still the best OS I've used.

I dont understand why people complain about third party apps not working, Win10 is still preview, what makes you think that things like Netflix will work given its not written by MS and even if the Netflix guys are working in the background on a Win10 version why would they be releasing it into the wild.....

Well, Netflix worked in the prior build on my S3 (Except that "Settings" didn't work on my S3, wouldn't open, couldn't even connect headphones as it wouldn't detect it)
Works in this build (On my Ultrabook and PC)

It's *just* the S3 that it doesn't work on.

That's a fact, as is. It's not the end of the world, and MS doesn't require a white knight to defend it. I don't expect everything to work. MS have enough of a problem getting apps on the store, if 10 breaks compatibly with many, they're in trouble frankly. Or should we keep pretending the eco system is flying high?
Played any latest games on the Windows Store yet? Nope, me neither.

Please tell me I can get rid of silly start menu and have the start screen back. I can't see the option which used to be there. I don't know why they don't combine the two so you can do what ever you want. Just let me pin live tiles to the desktop. That would be great.

Other than that charms bar still doesn't work if I point to top right hand corner, hasn't worked in any version. I know it works for other people so confused.

Notification area is much improved and generally everything looks a bit nicer.

Only way I know of so far is to press the arrows top right of the start menu, but it isn't quite the same, Infact I think the start menu at the moment is a complete mess. I don't like how things are separated from each other. I don't like the bar that decides to pop up on the taskbar when I click the start menu either.

Charms don't work here too & haven't since the first preview I installed.

This is going to take some getting used to. The last build had the right combination imo.
