Windows 10

I think people are just making do at the end of the day and come to terms this is how windows is going to be from now on.

But people all has different opinions but that's mine, so you can do as you wish with it.... at the end of the day the world would be rubbish if everyone thought the same....

No offence but you have a very short memory, remember how Windows 3.11 gave way to Win95 let alone how DOS 6.22 was phased out,end of the day Microsoft OS will always continue to evolve regardless of what you or I think, end of the day you have a choice and also a chance to get Win10 for free and also offer them feedback in preview builds so you can't really complain much.

UI may be different in modern times but that does not make it bad.

Anyway easier times ahead then when I started many decades ago :) .

Aero is well overrated, eye candy at best, any PC user can get any Windows looking decent if they spend the time, regardless I'm amazed at some of the negatives considering it's early preview build and will also be free(final build) to Win7/8 users if you upgrade within the first year.

Seems too many users get hang up on the old stuff ie in the past, ie Aero etc,end of the day things change and things get removed etc ,it's not a deal breaker or making OS any worst,in fact in general you gain a lot more then what you lose with every new OS,a lot of users forget that, especially if one of their favourite features disappear they throw a tantrum, sorry get over it.

How does it make any sense to tell someone the thing that they're saying they like, is "over rated"? What purpose does that server other than to suggest because you aren't fond of it, then they shouldn't like it?

Why make stuff worse tho,, its all about improvement, not going back the other way, and thats what ms has done with the UI on windows 8/10..... End of

It isn't end of at all. You are REALLY bad at this subjectivity thing. You aren't a fan of the UI, okay. That in itself doesn't make it bad. It just means you don't like it.

I just dont understand why ppl are taking more if a interest with the workings of windows then the user experience,, it should all come in the parcel so to speak. I doubt very much windows 10 will look much different, then what it does now when they release it, because windows 8 didnt look much different between preview and final builds.

For someone who focuses so much and hard on the way things look, your posts look like you put next to no effort in the way you present them.

I can say it's overrated because it's my honest humble opinion, regardless we all know things get dropped/changed in newer/later Operating Systems regardless of our likes and dislikes, are some users really that naive?...

If someone really wants Aero then send feedback to Microsoft and don't bitch about it,it's that simple, regardless it's not a deal breaker in an OS how can it be?

Yes, but realistically overrated doesn't actually mean anything outside of "people like something more than I think is deserved". So really it's a pointless metric.

I don't really see a problem with people complaining saying they'd prefer Aero, people are free to do so and it's a reasonable request.

I never said it is a deal breaker, and those who are claiming it is need to stop being little whinge babies.

A lot of things are pointless but that does not stop them debating or arguing the topic in question to the point of over kill.

I can also add third party companies always offer a visual improvement for those that need a better looking OS regardless of what version you use,so users always have an alternative end of the day to Aero.

Well not spent much time, as it was an excuse to pull apart and re-arrange three old 775 machines, and a couple of older, feel foolish for deleting Windows 98 on one of them, but it was darn useless and felt completely alien after all these years. Sitting room and dining table are looking like a scrap yard lol.

The old system I am running Widows 10 on,

Intel Core2Due E8500 running stock speed
BeQuiet Dark Rock Advanced CPU cooler
Asus Maximus II gene
Corsair Dominator GT 1066C5 2x2GB
Samsung Evo 840 120gb SSD
Samsung BluRay drive
MSI Twin Frozr HD-7950
Bequiet 630w Modular PSU
Silverstone TJ08B-E case

So far I have been quite happy with Windows 10, it seems to boot faster than Windows 7, in fact I think this old machine is booting to desktop faster with Windows 10 than my main i7 rig is with a Sammy Pro running Windows 7.

With World of Tanks I have had no crashes or glitches so far, minimum frame rates seem to be around the 60 mark with all settings maxed out.

I may try a few other games later if I have time.

To be honest, I could see the kids and wife preferring Windows 10 over 7 especially the app side.

well yesterday I installed windows 10 as my main OS to give it a try.

CSGO now loads with no issues where it wouldn't on the previous build.

quite happy with the OS, installed classic shell to give me back the start menu and control panel I like and to disable charms etc.

no issues to report, will stick with it as I don't have a OS I can use.

just installed 9926 and 4.5 samsung magican , rapid mode is greyed out as it dont detect windows 10, seems you need to use v4.4 , enable rapid mode then can update.
btw installed and running in 10 mins,0 problems installing, happy days

I did notice that as well, using 4.5 and rapid mode option is not there at all.

didn't use it in the first place and didn't notice any improvement with it enabled so left it off

Now on win10, looks ok, more stable but miss the taskbar transparency, the folder icons are ****ing shocking, i really do hope they're just place holders otherwise they must have a drunk 5 year old in the art department.

The only thing I really don't like about the latest build of 10 is the ugly document icons

They are horrible compared to the icons in 7 and 8.1, and they are not even consistent, it's a mix of old and new so far. I really hope they improve these on a newer build and certainly by the final release. Other than that I really like 10.

Windows 8.1 icons vs 10 icons :(

Sorry for the horrible photo quality.

icons_zpsethucnos.jpg

I have to agree, those icons are just so horrible, playschool even, i really don't know what on earth they were thinking and it really distracts from the experience because they're so prevalent

god knows with the icons, at least its a preview and can be changed before final release.

my PC is just for gaming so I very rarely browse files etc unless I need to install something
