First day above freezing since Monday here, everything has melted already, just the odd but of slush still surviving but it will be gone soon.

What job do you have?

I'm a e and I technician for the national grid gas transmission.

One of the many tracks I need to go down. This one dips into a valley where the snow was up to my waist...

Had a decent snow clearing operation going this morning on our steep dead end road. Went out and started clearing the pavement in front of the drive and the road in front of the house, was then joined in quick succession by four other blokes who came out with their shovels, we all helped clear each others driveway entrances and then set about clearing a track down the road itself so now there is a solid tarmac track going up and down the road (only single track, but it's a quiet road despite the number of houses anyway). Also cleared the drive and steps to the house next door where an elderly couple live, they easily had about a foot of snow on their drive, I don't think they even realised it had all been cleared until about an hour later. Certainly helps that you only have to remove snow down to the last few mm as it seems to thaw quite quickly once the majority has been removed.

Still going to give it another day or two before I take my car out though.

I spoke too soon, 24 hours later the coop has run out of most of perishables.

Most of the snow has gone and yet people still cant cope lol
More likely deliveries can't get through, our local ASDA has no milk whatsoever, but we had our snow on weds and it's all but gone now.

Roads have been fine since thursday evening here, was only cut off for around 24 hours. From what I saw yesterday it seemed to be pensioners clearing it out just incase.

A farmer had to dump 200 gallons of milk because the tanker couldn't get to the farm, depends where the milk comes from! Local farmers milk still has to go to god-knows-where to be processed.

It's snowing again here, just when I thought it was all going.

There's also a dead and now frozen Pheasant on the drive, it flew into the window earlier, never had that happen before, wouldn't expect it in such a built up area.

Anyone want it? lol
