Winter 2024/25 - Cold or Mild? Rain or Snow?

We've not had much rain with it here, the wind is constant though.

My boss isn't happy as he is having to pull a 16 hour shift as I'm not in - I dunno why they don't just close it just isn't sensible being out in it around where I live at least.

Very high winds here in east York. Circa 50 mph battering the grounds. Heavy rain. 8C but apparently feels like -6C. Apparently sis who is in Devon has the same but slightly faster winds.

BBC showing 50-60+ MPH wind here but the gusts are easily well in excess of that, I'm surprised there haven't been more fatalities - very dynamic conditions around here with a lot of debris and trees coming down throughout the day.

The wind has only picked very heavy about 3:30pm. Closed vents on windows as whistling is driving me insane.

Guessing usual areas are flooded

Still pretty atrocious here - wind seems to be if anything a bit worse overall as darkness has come on despite not getting the explosive gusts like we were.

One of our trees has come down taking out the neighbours fence and laying on top of an out building ... and as the tree was quite tall is also on the neighbour's neighbour's out building. Guess this is going to cost on the insurance :(.

Just remember, the design limit for wind in UK Building Regulations (eg house structure) is around 70mph. Sleep well.
