I'm really enjoying the series, can't wait for the next episodes. I'm also reading the book at the same time and I've almost caught up with the TV, but now I'm not sure if I should read ahead or not .
The TV series has been very close to the book, there are a few changes here and there but in all honesty, nothing worth complaining about.

Really enjoying this show so far - oozes with class :) Tyrion Lannister is definitely my favourite character so far...

I think I'll watch the rest of this series, and then read the books. It seems like such an epic story, I'm not sure I can wait 5 years t see it all play out!

Mostly Warrior Class atm not seen many mages, thieves, clerics,etc...!:p

lol!

Still really enjoying this. Not quite sure where the Renly/Loris thing came from though - don't remember anything like that from the books, but overall very impressed with how close it's staying to the books. I'm really love the overall look of the land, especially the castles - they look just right imo.

Favourites:
Arya, Tyrion, Dany & Littlefinger (all for different reasons LOL)

Hates:
Jaime, Joffey, Cersei, Sansa (Oh bugger, ANY Lannister apart from Tyrion LOL; Sansa is obviously a Lannister in waiting..)

I just love the focus on Family above all else, I havent seen that angle used before to such an extent. I'm just following through with the first book at the moment and can't believe that I have been into SF and Fantasy for 35 years and NOT read these books!

Next up, I want an HBO adaptation of Peter F Hamilton's Night's Dawn trilogy....

Favourites:
Arya, Tyrion, Dany & Littlefinger (all for different reasons LOL)

I also like Arya - she seems like she's very capable, and has a lot of potential. I get the impression that she's going to be quite a dynamic character as the series develops...

I'm really loving the show. I think it definatly picked up pace after pace after the first episode, which wasn't bad just a lot of information to digest.

I'm not sure how im feeling about it. I guess I just got so into the books that watching somebody elses interpretation of it is hard. The tv series seems a little... disjointed, perhaps. It certainly contains all the important plot points, that's fantastic, but it misses a lot of the filler. I guess im just a fanboi that wants to see everything.

The books had loads of story arcs going on at once, but filled the gaps with information, guessing, clues and character thoughts. I guess in the series, it feels a little rushed with characters jumping from important plot point to important plot point with no downtime.

I certainly don't dislike it, HBcandonothingwrongO have done an awesome job with it... i just worry that condensing such an epic series into watchable TV is a huge undertaking that may have been too big of a fish to fry.

Will see, i guess!

I managed to hold out for 5 weeks, now i've watched all them at once.

Awe-sum.

Back to waiting now :(

Reading the books, my favourite characters we're Jaime and Tyrion. So far the Tv hasn't disappointed. Tyrion especially is just how I imagined him to be. The actress who plays Arya is also excellent.

Is it just me who doesn't dislike Cersei's character? Well aside from the whole rumpy pumpy business that is.

King Robert is the only character I don't like. He is still "grieving" for Ned's sister this many years down the line and takes it out on everyone including his wife! To be honest, I'm not surprised that all her children are from Jaime.

And it seems to me like the only crime the Kingslayer has committed so far is wear impeccably shiny armour. He is looking after his family as best he can and his brother has just been taken hostage for a crime that he is responsible for.
