World first QD-OLED monitor from Dell and Samsung (34 inch Ultrawide 175hz)

The arm's mounting section to the display uses screws and some might be out of alignment or too long (by a tiny fraction). This might have a bad contact at the back of the display and anything that's run on mains nearby might be leaking small amounts of current through and this might be screwing with the display internally from something that's not earthed/protected properly inside. This can be LED lights, speakers, etc.

The arm doesn't screw directly into the monitor, the monitor comes with an adapter - the arm screws into the adapter, the adapter clips into the monitor where the default stand would go:

This is so damn odd! I'm visiting family and using my slow PC with the monitor I used to have ( 1440p/Gsnyc/27" ) and the monitor looks like it's caved in on both sides :cry:
Haha same happens to me. I use the aw during work time, then when I use my flat screen in the evening, it seems curved but the opposite to the AW.

Going to look at getting one of these QD-OLED’s over Christmas / new year and noticed MSI also do one, is any one better then the other or have they all got the same features and stuff like g-sync?
only Alienware gives you 3-year burn-in warranty when it comes to qd oleds, so if this is what's important to you then I would look their way
I would say DW is still the best choice because of gsync, 175Hz and being a tad brighter in hdr than competition

Btw guys, dunno if anyone noticed but few months ago Nvidia decided to allow user firmware updates for Gsync ultimate monitors and initially it was just the new 360hz ulmb2 ASUS monitor that could do it, but the updates are rolling out to others too

And now as of 5 December you can update your aw3423dw yourself to the latest firmware

The firmware below will update your Gsync aw34 to MOB205. It's a 114MB download and takes 10 minutes to install

Sadly no change to flicker between MOB204 and MOB205:
MOB204:
MOB205:

The aw23 suffers from random flickering that can occur in any scenario, completely unrelated to VRR flicker and that's probably what was fixed. It's kind of common for me, I can be using Microsoft excel and the screen will just go black for a split second and come back, does it maybe two or three times in a 8 hour day. So hoping that's what the firmware fixes

yep, updated mine a few days back
for some it says MOB205 and for others it says MOB106

Mine seems to be updating now, was on mob103

It wasn't working at first, I ended up having to remove my hdr color profile from windows

Ok it's worked, it's saying I'm on mob106

I would keep the file guys. The updater program checks for new firmware so in future you can just run it to look for new firmware

Was gonna say to ignore the MSI one cos its way overpriced but OCUK seem to have it on offer right now with 30% off so it makes it a contender though i would still consider the burn in warranty with Dell instead.

When the Dell AW is on Offer it was around £780 last time i saw, especially now that the firmware is upgradeable too it makes it way more enticing.

AHHHHHHHHH I have the first dust spec on my Monitor that seems to have just appeared out of nowhere, but wont come off!!!!! AHHH no I wont wash it off either   :eek:

Going to be raising a ticket with Dell as I've been having power issues with my 34" QD-OLED last few weeks.

It seems to randomly struggle to power on after being on standby, not sure why. The only way I'm able to get it turn on again is unplug the power and reconnect.

Today it's been a blinking purple light, the other day it was just a blinking white light.

Will see what they say on support tomorrow morning but rather they just replace it.

Anyone had this issue?

Had this with another dell monitor. Best to get a video of the issue, as they will most likely ask for it.

After that it was a straightforward replacement.

I wonder what Dell did to drop the latency in the new firmware?

I mean I can't even feel the difference but tech speaking at full 175hz refresh the monitor has 50% lower input latency now than on the previous firmware and that's huge
