World first QD-OLED monitor from Dell and Samsung (34 inch Ultrawide 175hz)

I'll let you guys know what QD-OLED is like in the morning :D

Important thing first though is to reroute the cabling if the cables. The LG I have has a USB 3.0 hub built in but the Alienware has a 3.2 gen 1 hub so will need the newer cable, the DP cable will also need to be swapped, and the power brick cable unreouted as the new monitor uses a kettle lead.

:D It's set to be a sunny day tomorrow too so will be able to see what the glare is like off the AR coating since it's curved and some light shafts do shine through at certain times of the day when the sun is just right to bounce off the windowsill that is painted white even through the blinds.

I know where you live @mrk. So...

I'll wait outside your house and pretend to be you. When they show up I'll take it and drive off!

The UPS guy will have seen't the strangest looking Khan ever :p

Can you please just do a decent text overview comparison, note and that considering. After that if you and others are saying its okay tomorrow I'll.be happier and then will look forward to seeing the calibration and such. A lot to learn on that as never done anything self and work computers done by a specialist.

If you feel it would be worth spending the dosh on a pro coming out for it that would be good to know or if it's mostly able to set following a guide/YT video to get it good enough.

Text comparison is what I've been hyped to check out since those posts started flying around. This morning I read from 2 different people on reddit that the text fringing fixed itself for them after several cycles of the panel refresh/pixel maintenance feature so maybe there is something there. I will take closeup macro shots of text before and after ClearType adjustment.

Calibration results too. I am not sure if I will be able to run a measurement before calibration though as ccProfiler complains about not having a valid profile on a new display (makes sense) but will see what's what.

For what it's worth I will pretty much be running the display in SDR mode exclusively for previously mentioned reasons. I have no interest in HDR and the need to switch between modes depending on game/media, and I don't feel I am missing much from HDR anyway. I just want a fast and high quality OLED panel that delivers accurate colours for the sRGB content I view and create.

Brill, thank you. I really want this to be good. And all sounds good in calibration and SDR side. I'll probably ly switch to HDR for gaming but I don't mind that as day time work and evening gaming. But yeah just want to get a proper idea on it as YT been rubbish on proper detailed reviews etc.
