X3:Terran Conflict has arrived

Yes it is possible, and people have been know to wage war and do exactly that. To do it without cheating you would need about 100 billion credits.

So you can wipe out entire sectors, would structures come back? As in you need to constantly destroy them? And in this case can you make your own shipyard and manufacture ships? As if you make everyone an enemy you wont be able to buy more ships. Would love to take over a whole sector with an infrastructure to support it. Does ore run out from asteroids? Guess lots of questions for my new goal of taking over the universe :D

On the side note, tried fighting with an M6 again in my M4, epic fail... Per flyby I can do about 5-10% damage to shields, by the time I come back for another they regenerated while I slowly take more and more damage.

So decided to back down and avoid such missions, on other news did manage to finally get enough rep to buy an M6 myself, but then realised I was 9mil short... Bugger so bought a Kea M3 instead, not that fast but 5 shields, two turrets and 6 or 8 front weapons. So I am pleased, just need to buy the kit for it now. Hopefully I won't need to sell my M4 for it but at least should have a decent chance against M6's now that I got actual fire power.

1) There is a god engine that respawns stations and ships. The location of the new stuff is random, so you would need a constant presence to deal with that.

2)Mines dont runout of ore

3)Yes you can manufacture your own ships, weapons, shields.....

4)you will get pwnd in xenon patrol missions in the kea, its just to slow. You really want a ship thats > 200m/s imo speed is more important than shields

Any tips for being a merc? , i have no idea what to do or where to go to start making dosh

Thanks

Best way to make money as a merc is Look for combat missions. when you have high enough rep with a race get their police license gives you money for every pirate \ xenon you kill in that races sector.

Best bit of advice i can give is pick your weapons and ship carefully there are good ones and bad ones. speed > shields as a fast ship wont get hit and is able to run away, where as a slow one will just get toasted.

You need a mix of weapons, fast firing low hull damage weapon is good for taking out m5 and m4, slow firing high power weapons are good for taking out larger targets.

Fast firing low hull damage weapons are also good for capturing ships, gives the target longer to think about their mortality. Take out the shields quickly then switch to 1 low hull damage weapon and just keep picking away at the hull.

1) Awesome, a coupld of M2's in each sector it is then :D

2) Also awesome

3) Even more awesome

4) Oh snap, other then the Kea I can afford another M3 which is much cheaper, slightly faster but no turrets, Argon still hate me (can't find a mission I can do as I am based on the left with only one border argon sector near me which either spawns few M6's on a defence mission or stupid impossible missions that send me through argon core sectors anyway) Think its called Omycron Lyire or something like that, which has nothing to really trade with (as in cannot auto trade and I suck at manual trading). Well il try the new M3 and see how it fares anyway :).

You should be ok as long as the enemy dont use PBE's, but you will be spending a lot of time trying to avoid incomming fire.

Have a look at the FREE ships list and check them out most are better than the kea http://www.pitmancoventry.co.uk/temp/abandoned_ships.txt

ah didnt notice this first time, thats not the left of the universe thats about the center. Buy a TS or TP and put traiding software MK3 in it set up a sector trader in Circle of labour. It wont be instatainius but the ST will slowly increase your argon rep.

Oh and just thought idd rub my success in last night i reached the rank of "Hero of the Federation" the highest reputation rank that argon possess. I can buy anything from them thay like me that much

Ahh yes, looked at some of the locations and the ones that are closest, are on the other side of the Argon space. Did try to fly around but instead took up a few missions and Split now like me enough to buy the crappy M3 as well, so flying the long way il never make it. But il have a look, maybe buy a fast M5, rush through and collect a couple of those ships to sell, to buy that M6, might not be a bad plan.

Edit: Thought that terran shipayrds don't sell that software and I have to fly through their core sector to bring that software to a TS ship. did think of that but after checking out local trading stations did not spot any mk3 software for sale there.

Trading software MK3 is avaliable from telardi equipment docks, there are a few other places to get it as well but not around where you are.

why dont the argon like you? ive had no problems even at the start of the game going through argon space from terran to telardi.

Its a story of an Epic Fail of a ship retrieval mission. They wanted me to fetch an M4, which was way too damaged to even fly to a shipyard to get repaired before the time run out so I thought il just keep it fail the mission and use it.

BAD plan, moments later after the time expired, and the ship finally made it to the shipyard, a whole bunch of argon police ships fly into teladi core secotor and shot up the M4 and the captured freighter, but ignored me. So I load the game, honk M4 for 300k, laughing to myself and fly out of the sector.

Go to the nearest argon border sector, dreading an armada ready to kill me, but no, everything is blue including local police. So I figure hugh maybe they just like me again. Fly into core sector and the comms goes "You got one minute to disappear from here or we open fire". Bugger, back out go to a station, can't trade.

So that plan is down the drain, sat there for a bit looking for missions I can actually do, nothing, so called it quits and left for taledi space.

Ah epic fail indeed, i did a similar thing earliy on in the game, i said to my self cant i keep the ship and sell it on. only to discover a massive hit in rep if i did so. I just loaded a earlier save and didnt keep the ship.

It will take along time to get there but here is my best tips in recovering the rep, go the long way round to "Aladna Hill" it a argon boarder sector right next to a pirate sector. wait there and kill all pirates that enter shouldnt take long to get your rep up.

Another system to try would be "Elena's fortune" but thats even further away.

Pretty sure there was some other reason why I couldn't load back probably because I just captured an M8 or something like that, and didn't save. Oh yeah that's right, was doing that mission when I was waiting for the slow ass ship to get somewhere took on a quick defence mission and captured an M8 on it, so didn't really feel like loading :(.

Anyway I can always just get a lot of Taledi rep, build up my fleet and kill off Argon. Any reason why I should be friendly with them?

Terran > Split > Argon > Parinid > Boron > Telardi

Oh and keep you eyes out for somewhere that sells jump drives then you can get back to terran space without going thru argon sectors.

Ah, bugger so split are not bad then, hmmh I got good rep with them as well so will move my trading to one of their systems then. So in that respect what would be the better thing to do. Keep the new M3 to do missions in, or spend 6.5mil on trading ships to overrun Split space, or try to get past the Argon blocade with the trading MK3 software back to terran space and start auto trading/missions there.

Think moving my operations to terran space would be ideal as I can always get a really fast M5 and pilot it manually to fetch more mk3 software for taking over trade in Terran space. Then invade and kill Argon with my uber big fleet to establish and ideal world free of oppression which is not dished out by me :D

Edit: Also I prefer how terran ships look as well.

I've been playing the X games since they first started, but this one is the same as X3: It's too buggy out of the bag to enjoy yet. Never mind though, support has always been good, but I'm going to shelve it for a while until it's patched to a sufficient level.

Have you had any problem with bugs, such as un-solvable missions etc.?

It's insane, it really is. I made a bit of money trading as humble merchant and decided I want to go and find something to shoot at. So I spend a good few hours just roaming the universe and barely find anything to shoot at other than a couple "Game Over" screens. Giving up I started looking for very easy combat missions instead and after a few more game overs I get a mission to escort 3 ships to a cahoona bakery in the next sector. No problem thought I, but the ships take ages getting to warp gate at 44m/s and when they finally get there they just fly around it instead of going through.

Anyway there was a regular stream of pirate ships that I could kill so sat there doing that for a couple hours and captured 6 ships. The ships I was escorting eventually all died while they floundered about so I sent my new acquisitions off to argon prime. When they got to argon prime I did a broadcast ordering them to dock at the shipyard, but instead of doing this they all but 2 flew off on completely random trajectories away from the shipyard and just kept going. Then as I was reissuing orders to these headless chickens a group of 4 pirates flew in and massacred my ships and eventually me.

Gotta laugh really. Is there some software you need to make ships follow your commands better?
