X3:Terran Conflict has arrived

Anyway there was a regular stream of pirate ships that I could kill so sat there doing that for a couple hours and captured 6 ships. The ships I was escorting eventually all died while they floundered about so I sent my new acquisitions off to argon prime. When they got to argon prime I did a broadcast ordering them to dock at the shipyard, but instead of doing this they all but 2 flew off on completely random trajectories away from the shipyard and just kept going. Then as I was reissuing orders to these headless chickens a group of 4 pirates flew in and massacred my ships and eventually me.

Gotta laugh really. Is there some software you need to make ships follow your commands better?

Yes, fly out of the sector, they seem to navigate better, but yes I had similar docking problem.

Edit 2: My dumb ass has figured all my original questions out. New question: is there a way to make the SETA persist when travelling across sectors? For lengthy treks, it would be good to be able to specify my final destination then just let the autopilot fly there, but it seems that the SETA cuts out every time I cross from one sector to the next, so if I'm not sat at the computer pressing J every sixty seconds or so, the journey takes 10x as long.

I've been playing this for a couple of days now. When I started, it seemed to run perfectly smoothly, but now I get low framerates (in the 15 to 30 range, dropping to around 1 to 5 when things get busy) and occasional stutters, where the screen will just freeze for a few seconds. Even dropping the graphics settings seems to have exactly zero effect. What the hell?

Does anyone else think the intro animation is awesome?

Some good guides to starting trading in the manual and also online ;)

Well looks like I finally worked out a way to kill P's, Sit there and wait until they start shooting someone else and join in the fun. Got 2 kills this way on a nice hefty paying mission. Which nicely offsets my complete and utter failing to retrieve the Mamba in the pirate sector. Every single time I get blown up by mines and cannot see them.

Ironically when I was attempting this, The pirates were getting slaughtered by Boron and someone else from two sides, so the timing was perfect, but I fail royally... oh well at least Argon love me again after they finally decided to give me a mission I could complete.

Pfew, will just grind them a bit more and buy a decent ship from them. Terrans appear to love giving me impossible missions as well.

Arghh just come across cycrows cheat script lol :D so tempting, currently going through the terran storyline but gone back to basics and started off trading.

I want to get the hang of stations and eventually making some loops so I can start building up a small fleet, will probably try and control several sectors and have my patrols in them. I was thinking of aiming to have some crystal fabs in ore belts as well as some wheat farm and solar plants, maybe having bakeries etc to supply the crystal factories.

What would you guys reccommend in terms of building a fleet, shall I simply buy all the equipment needed or try and build ships, shields and weapons. I want ideally to get a 25MW shield factory going so I can start buying and equippin my M3's but will i need an equipment station also for that and should I go for building weapons too?

Ok, dusted off X3 Reunion after reading this thread, but I can't turn any of the sound options down, only up. Anyone? This is in the game options menu, lets me increase the sound, music and voice levels but won't let me lower them. And I REALLY want that music off :p

Not sure of your problem but don't forget to patch, also worth getting the Xtended Mod, it pretty much is TC without the story, at least i believe egosoft took most of their ideas from them for TC, which is not a bad thing mind, its just they should have added far more to make it new game worthy imo.

Also check out the custom starts if you do get the mod, they don't mention them in the instructions but theres some really nice ones, they won't have the story or the bala gi missions mind, you can still get the HQ though.

It's a known problem that once you explore the universe more, the CPU struggles a bit handling all the Out Of Sector (OOS) traffic. The Egosoft boffins are working on a patch to resolve it. It's not your graphics; it's the CPU.

How does this game compair ?

I've played

Eve Online

Heagemonia

Sins of solar empire

im downloading a demo of X3 atm as im trying to find a game i can stick 2

I thinks there a few to many buttons for a 360 controller, unless you dont mind dropping it to do various bits and bobs and use it solely for combat.

just did a pirate invasion mission, over 70 m6's killed earned me a nice 91 million took over an hour due to the laser energy on my own m6 constantly running out.

luckily the sector had a shipyard and i was able to quickly dock to repair a bit of hull damage and let things recharge for a few seconds, you cant wait for too long or the game will think you have given up on the mission.

trigger finger aching.

Something worrying going on. Occasionally a structure in a sector will just disappear. Been trading in the same sectors so know them like the back of my hand and a marine training place in home of light has vanished and also a ore mine in emporer mines. Seems to have happened in between save/loads. Hope it doesn't keep happening or it'll end up being an empty universe.
