X3:Terran Conflict has arrived

Thanks for the help Tefal, so to make sure I udnerstand this, the S M L refers to the shielding bundled with the ship?

So if I buy a mercury S I can still upgrade it to the stats of the Mercury L but by buying the bigger shields and possibly other upgrades?

yeah you can get an s to the same stats as an l but often it costs more tracking down and buying the shields.

Also just looking at that link you posted I can see my Mercury Tanker is the smaller of the two types. They all have 1 turret slot, is the turret slot an automated gun?

If you put a gun in the turret and have fight command software mk1 and mk2 (mk2 ideally).

You can order it to do different things in your ships autopilot menu.

ie have them shoot down incoming missiles, all enemies near by, or only fire on your target (saves them drawing fire from a random enemy that wasn;t attacking you in the first place)

The guns in my traders (iirec only 1 hs a gun, they have jump drives and run away :p) is just set to shoot missiles only.

just to buy him enough time to jump out.

the others do fine unarmed tbh.

geez you can't turn your back in this game can you. i mined a load of silicon etc, which took a fair old while, then sent my freighters off to the customer to sell up, & by the time they arrived in the customers sector it had been utterly annihilated, the place is littered with station & ship debris. i don't know who did what to whom but they did one hell of a thorough job as all life has ceased in Presidents end ( an Argon sector ). i'm now stuck with 2 freighters full of ore & in dire need of a new customer :p

You must be playing reunion, not TC. Presidents End is wiped out by the kaahk as part of the plot. If i remember correctly you even get a cut scene telling you about it.

Just checked presidents end and there are no stations in there, probably never been either.

There are destroyed stations in that sector.

I thought they were destroyed in Reunion also? Don't remember seeing anything in Presidents End in either game except destroyed stations and ships passing through.

Maybe a bit late for me, but as i have a new pc on its way, im looking at this game to break up the online gaming time.

As a player who has never played X3, ever, any good guides i can read to make sure i dont get blown away in 5 mins?

Best place to look for guides is the egosoft forum, someone also posted a good one several pages back.

Best advice to stop you getting blown away in 5 min is dont pick a fight with anything with guns.

That is a good starter guide used it myself.

I have just begun and it a brilliant game but you need to put some time into it to enjoy it.

but it is a brilliant game.

I've got a decent game going now, three universal traders, two Mercurys and one Mercury Tanker, all kitted out with jumpdrives and all the software. I've got two of them doing sector trades to a range of 3 jumps from Argon Prime and the final trader in Empires Edge (I think), he's still levelling up.

One of my traders in Argon Prime is refusing to trade though, usually when I set the trader to sector trade it says "command confirmed" or something like that, but I cant get this guy to accept the command. Any suggestions?

It is also time for me to start thinking about my next big buy, station or frigate? Are the stations worth it? I was thinking of starting off with a Cahoona bakery in Argon prime like the dummies guide suggests.

I had similar problem with one of my traders when i set it either as UT or sector trader that could jump.Turned out that he wanted more shields (at least 1 25MJ) and to be fully repaired. Bought it 2nd hand and didn't bother to repair then.

Got to try this game when the PC turns up :) cant wait to see it and the mech game over the crysis engine. lovely times ahead!

if you go to player then my mesge log, you can find msg from traders which usually tell you whats wrgiong (they apperar there not in the flashing envelope for some reason)

how do you unlock the quests for the player hq?

do you have to finish the terran quest or can you start it without.

Had this and the original X3 sitting around for a while now, I never managed to get 'into' the original X3, but all I did was try to follow the story. If I was to try and start playing it seriously, should I just skip the original X3? I was under the impression that TC is everything that X3 was + more :D

anyone know a good script that will let me just press a single button to launch all marines so i don't have to go through the hideously designed maze of menus while trying to fight?

FFS every time my men get inside the hyperion it fires some kind of powerful missile shoots it with it's own guns and blows it's self up :/

The paranid captains have a nasty habit of firing wraith missiles when their shields fail. We wouldn't want it to be too easy would we?

If you use an M7M class vessel you can launch marines by pressing 'L' when boarding pods are selected. Otherwise there is no single button solution to the problem.
