X3:Terran Conflict has arrived

Finally getting into this game, done the first mission(Scouting) and got a new ship. That guide posted a few pages back really helped :p

Yeah I'm also just getting into this game properly, had it since release but never managed to get past the first hurdle of actually getting a station and a few UTs going.

Just planted my first station, Large Cahoona factory in Argon Prime. Does anybody have any suggestions for my next stations?

I don't understand this. Just found a good trade run, bought the stuff to sell and a few systems away from selling them I get blown up! No warnings or anything. Did I miss something?

Were you going slow near a gate? maybe something came through behind you, that happened to me once when I was checking the sector map while parked in front of a gate I just travelled through.

there are warning lights on front of gates telling you which way the traffic currently moving, helpful even if sometimes you still get face slapped by a destroyer coming the other way even after checking the lights.

even the dead-is-dead'ers keep save games for such an event.

Finaly going to go grab this off steam. Allways been intrested in it as an offline eve kinda space sim, but seemed very out of reach for newbies, reading the pdf guide atm m.thx :p

Is it DX10/9 or whatnot, graphics in the videos seem really rather good

Edit: allso gamepad/joystick/kb&mb ?

What guide you reading through Nico_Joey?

Just DX9 and also only uses a single core, I believe they did put multi core support in but it was causing more problems that it helped.

For controls I (and most people I'd imagine) use keyboard & mouse; flying, shooting and manoeuvring can be a bit of a pain sometimes especially in the larger ships so if you've got a joystick to use along with kb & m it can help but it does work fine without one. TC can even be played just using the mouse alone but that's just more of a learning help before you remember all the keyboard short cuts.

Also another good pdf guide is the X3 Handbook though it does contain spoilers in some sections it does have a whole load of info in there.

I've not played Xtc for donkeys, i had so much money though the game stopped counting it. Had a fleet of fully kitted out capital ships as well and completed the full version of the hub mission using vast vast amounts of factory complexes, I spent millions (probably billions) on them all as they were all closed loop. Had a fleet of the argon factory transport ships as well (mammoth ?).

how do you unlock the quests for the player hq?

do you have to finish the terran quest or can you start it without.

You need to complete the hub plot to get the player hq plot. So no you dont need to finish the terran plot first but its a long way off.

anyone know a good script that will let me just press a single button to launch all marines so i don't have to go through the hideously designed maze of menus while trying to fight?

* Re-enabled use of more than 2GB RAM if supported by the operating system
* M6, M8 and TM ships now travel through gates like smaller ships
* Enabled M7 and M8 ships to spawn in more missions
* Added chance of Xenon during a Defend Station mission
* Reduced flak explosion volume
* Included a large amount of bugfixes, investigated and provided by our community

enjoy

Using more ram has got to be a good thing though, why did they disable it before?

Anyway, started a new game, got my first billion from mining nvidium and selling the ships - 1 mercury then 23 then 133 :) So much quicker than my old struggle through the early game.

Now going to see what sort of size of fleet my comp can handle, red wing standing by!

>2GB support has been in the game for ages but they disabled it a couple of patches ago because of memory leak errors which they have now fixed.

Ah so you decided to cheat\exploit your way to the first billion. ;)
