X3:Terran Conflict has arrived

Is there any reason why my copy via steam is trying to download the whole game again? I won't be able to play now till its downloaded and I'm on a capped 60Gb a month connection in New Zealand. Dumb as.

how ****ing long does it take to train marines?

had two doing advanced all skills and they've been training since about 4amyesterday ON SETA X10 :(

cancel download verify files delete client .blob if necessary.

also what's the best equipment to put on a tl?

I know they have difficulty docking and want it to do some trading while It's not towing stations, do i just tell a ts to follow it or will it buy freight drones and use them on iot's own?

I am not sure they can do any trading in the standard game on there own. But its been a while since I last played the game for more than 5 mins at a time.

If I am correct I know there's a few scripts that make TLs a lot more useful.

Also for any that don't know the superbox has finally been given a release date.

There is also a fleet resupply script which allows you to set a minimum requirement for a fleet and the TS will busy about space buying the specified missiles/drones/guns and teleporting them to the ships.

they can take a long time, several game days at least if they were high level to start with.

however, u dont always need to try them full on all skills

if they are already high level, then training them again in advanced means part of the training is wasted, but you still have to wait until they have finished the whole course

Any tips on how to set up my tl then?

It's got a bit of down time atm while i save some money to build some stations and decide weather i can be bothered to do the goner quest :p

Also iirc the hyperion has 2 hanger bays so whn i cap it what's best to put in there?

And keep the skiron/, have it follow/protect me, leave it in a safe sector till i need it or sell it?

It is quite funny doing patrol missions on Auto pilot defend sector though :p

sell it, you could put the money to better uses else where, & as the Skirons not unique, it's daft hanging on to it for the sake of it. the money you raise could be put towards a booze/weed plex in Avarice, which is a licence to print ridiculous amounts of money. hell, you could even put the money towards a bunch of UT's, but there's more risk of asset loss involved with those.

the only ships you should ever keep are the unique ones, Vidar, Iggy Vanguard, Hyperion etc, save em for your PHQ so you can RE them.

The PHQ and Terran shipyard aren't exciting enough to slog through very dull missions.
It's more fun to wipe out Xenon sectors and watch AI destroyers blast each other. When you wipe out Xenon shipyard sectors there are huge migrations of K's, J's and Q's.

So am i bets putting in say 2 m3's (or m3+'s if I can find some) or would i be better sticking in some faster 4s?

if the Hyperions going to be your personal ship ide be more inclined to concentrate on shielding & firepower for the fighters, than speed, something that can mount PBE's or EBC's if you don't mind the ongoing cost of ammo for the EBC's. as both weapons strip shielding in a matter of seconds leaving you free to administer the coup de grâce, presuming they haven't bailed or legged it by then.

Having been away from X3 for quite a while I notice they have released some patches. I would imagine I am before patch 2.6.

One of the reasons I stopped was due to the fact that I have 3 very large complexes in a single sector and the sector became completely unvisitable. It was like your mum showing off her holiday snaps and wanting you to savor every little inch before moving to the next one.

Has this been fixed or is there a viable workaround. I cannot even get in to the sector to self destruct the complex and rebuild it elsewhere.

On the plus side which may help, I have now upgraded to 8GB and I see that patch 2.7 allows more than 2GB to be used.

Cheers

There have been lots of performance fixes in the various patches whether it will fix your problem or not is another matter.
