The back compatible games on Series S still have upgrades though. Such as the higher res and higher fram rates that they get on the X as well.

The X also runs those at higher resolution.

The console itself is more than capable, the problem is that it gets the Xbox One OG/S versions of Xbox One games and not the Xbox One X version which can mean they look a blurry mess on a big 4K T.V.

So I’ve had an issue were if I power off/on or reboot it won’t always come up cleanly. It’ll just cycle and display snow. Usually I can get it back, but today it seems to be stuck in that cycle.

Have you tried a different HDMI port on the TV, or even a different cable?

So I’ve had an issue were if I power off/on or reboot it won’t always come up cleanly. It’ll just cycle and display snow. Usually I can get it back, but today it seems to be stuck in that cycle.

Ive had display snow on mine. Like fine snow with a green band down centre.

Its down to my Tv and Av setup i think though. I messed about with my hdmi ports etc and never had it since.

I have the same, but the line is red. I've tried it in different ports, and I've routed it via my TV NOT Yamaha YSP2500 - that pretty much fixed my HDMI CEC issues.

I may try the USB firmware solution, but honestly think it may just be dead :/

So i've just brought it upstairs and connected to my Asus PQ278 (whatever, was good about 7 years ago) and it works fine...so far :/

I definitely had this issue multiple times and haven't since messing with my setup. My amplifier is Yamaha too.

It was, but replaced it with a zeskit certified 8k cable

Disabling the quick resume would give back a much needed 40GB, and I have no use for the feature as games boot up so quickly now if the developer isn’t stupid enough to put force timed splash screens on boot up.

Always been pc player until recently but don't get much spare time and don't want to be spending loads to upgrade my old pc 670gtx so Xbox looks good value.

Had a a PS3 in the past but my pc was always better as 720p sucked. I'm hoping the series s will keep me happy, maybe the the X or ps5 one the proper deals arrive in a couplrebof years

Well, that's going to be some good gaming for a while! I'm very happy that the Wolfenstein's have made it back, and also the Fallout games. And that means that they'll be on Game Pass permanently. This is amazing!
