I wouldn't send it back beacuse the consoles shutting down on 2 games that are known for being buggy and a Beta. I bet it's the game themselves causes the issue and nothing to do with the console. Get your money back on the games. Especially back for blood. Massive let down compared to Left4dead series.

I've not paid anything directly for the games. Thry are via gamespass.

What I don't want is to end up 12 months down the line, and out of warranty, with a console that fails to play the real games I want to purchase and play.

Yea tried all manner of things, with no luck. A return has been arranged with Very. Only had the console since early June. Unfortunately thry can't offer a replacement due to stock, so if a fault is confirmed I get a refund and am back to hunting one down again! :(

Can't you organise a replacement directly with MS? When I bought an Xbox One S from Tesco a few years ago I arranged for a faulty controller to be replaced by MS directly rather than sending the whole console back to Tesco. I'd imagine you could organise a replacement through MS if you log into your MS account online and go into your devices. The console should be listed in there and you should be able to raise a request through MS support. It might be better than taking your chances getting a replacement by waiting for stock drops. And I wouldn't imagine Very would do a good job of actually thoroughly testing the console when it goes back to them, so you could end up wasting loads of time going through them.

I looked into it last night. Their website said that any replacement device provided would probably be a refurbished one...... I'm not sure how I feel about that.

I remember years ago I had a faulty iPhone replaced by apple under warranty and they gave me a refurbished phone. You would never have known it was like brand new, but it only had a 3 month guarantee rather than a 12 month one.

I'm not sure what microsofts replacement warranty would be. But part of me doesn't want to have to find out, not unless Very start playing funny buggers.

Your warranty from MS should either be a full new 12 month warranty, or a warranty for the duration of whatever was left on the product you've returned. Your warranty shouldn't ever be reduced just because you've got a refurbished product.

I had exactly the same problem with an iPhone 4. The replaced phone then started to give me a problem whilst taking calls, people couldn't hear me. In the end I stupidly just bought an iPhone 5, the screen then started to give me problems again out of warranty (typical). Last apple iphone I ever bought.

I have little faith in refurbished units. I have an MS Elite Controller V2. It had unresponsive buttons and stick drift. MS accepted it back no problem and sent me another unit (refurbished as far as I can tell)
this also has two issues. It switches itself off now and then and has one less responsive paddle. But no stick drift:p. I think these have a history of issues though and I think the consoles less so.

I understand your concern regarding shipping it back. If anything might be better to just get your money back if you qualify for it (just my opinion). Buying direct from MS will allow you to get an extended warranty. Not that I got an extended warranty or did I buy my SX direct from them but I wish I had. Mine was from amazon, just down to availability at the time. But they have always been pretty good regarding returns (as long as it is within warranty). But this then leaves you with the task of finding another unit.

Bottom line if your current unit is showing signs of not being 100% best to get it sorted now as potentially the issue could get worse especially if it actually is a hardware related issue. It will also be at the back of your mind.

My thoughts exactly. It's being posted back on Monday.

Have already re-joined the stockinformer telegram group on the hunt for another one!

Quick question, why does my XSX ask for my password every time I log in? Is there a setting I need to change to I can just click my profile and it’ll sign me in automatically similar to the PS5?

I can’t tell you what you need to change but just to confirm that i am always signed in on startup automatically

When I set up my XSX I enabled this setting by accident and it quickly became tiresome, I had to enter passcode when logging in etc. Changed it to sign-in automatically as @Goodie mentions.

Any tips for picking up an XSX? I decided to grab one a couple of weeks ago and since then haven't seen one in stock! Argos had a few but none available for delivery to me

you have to sign up to stock informer sites because that is what others do to get in the line before you. so if you cant beat them, join them

Yeah I have, I'm following a few on Twitter and have Hotstock downloaded. Microsoft just dropped some and I literally hit the notification as it came in, still missed out

I was just thinking I can't believe 8 months later it's still hard to get Xbox or ps5. I thought it was bad when the 360 came out, it was hard to get one for a few months. This is a whole new level. And it's not supply constraint, sales are higher than the 360 for the same period by a good margin. I guess it's just a sign of how big console gaming has become.

Honestly, I've been at checkout with a PS5 about 3 times recently and bailed as there's nothing I want to play on it (I've got a PS4). I can't even get close to an XSX

I don't blame you, I got a PS5 the other week and after the initial set up and played Astro for a bit i got nothing. Friends ask me what are you playing now?

Errrrr, MS Flight Simulator?!
