I enjoy the Sony games, but there aren’t many great games anymore. It’s just become too expensive to develop them and a risk with anything new. It doesn’t help that it drives clicks for social media and the gaming community to hate on any game that doesn’t have every cutting edge feature.
I don't know about the gaming community hate because there have been so many simple games that the community have loved, I think the developers have been lazy and filling quotas was deemed more important than the game itself.

Not touched my Xbox series X in 6 months now other than a couple of games of moving out 2 with my son, only other times it gets used is when he plays FC24 which he barely plays, game pass expires on the 27th and I won't be renewing it, Ive fallen out with gaming recently after decades of gaming everything just seems to be the same thing rehashed

Even couch gaming with my son has proven difficult, what happened to selecting two player and playing the game? Now you need to Google it and pass an exam to set up a two player game locally

Has anyone else given up with modern gaming and sought alternatives successfully? Maybe a retro handheld or VR or some alternative to being disappointed with modern consoles and games?

I ended up getting a Switch and playing all the Nintendo games I had missed out on. The Zelda games and the Pokemon games alone make it worthwhile IMO.

Interesting thanks, I've toyed with the idea of a switch for years now but I'm not sure what games I would enjoy
Never played Pokémon games but absolutely loved the Zelda's on the Switch. Completed Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom, Echoes of Wisdom and Links Awakening. Just signed up for Nintendo Online so I can play Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask.

Get yourself a Pi and teach your lad about the history of gaming.

What's Nintendo online is it some kind of subscription service like game pass?

getting sick of Xbox pads and there ***** stick drift! I’ve got 3 pads in house 2 with really bad drift.

I’ve already had to buy 2 new ones in past for same thing.

Any one know of any 3rd party wireless ones that use them is it hall sticks so drift isn’t an issue?
