Anyone else going to try Stalker 2 on their XSX tonight? I've already got the 140+GB preloaded and will give it a go in the evening after the launch time.

Anyone know when this 'unlocks' in the UK? I'm sure I read 1600 hrs GMT somewhere, I preloaded too (twice, as there was an update released of comparable size) but it's still saying I'm too early yet to start the game (Xbox Series X).

Performance mode seems pretty bad 40 to 50fps, would prefer lower resolution holding 60fos

Wow, didn't realise STALKER was out, used to love the original, a bit obsessed with BO6 at the moment though so might let it have a few patches before I dive in.

I only played the tutorial bits, which to be fair were all in the dark. Seemed solid enough, hopefully any dips will be mitigated by VRR.

Bit confusing, so far. Finding the inventory system a bit awkward.

Tried this last night with Dredge and it was perfect for 99% of the time. Had a little hiccup occasionally where the quality dropped drastically but other than that it was great. Hopefully they can add more games to it.

Yeah I was streaming Dredge via Steam Deck too. I purchased XBPlay and it works flawlessly, always find it connects to the cloud faster than the native Xbox app on my phone too.

Stalker - is it just me or does the sound seem a bit weird in the game? Especially when NPC's are speaking - sounds like they are talking in a cave, hollow and echo like?

I might have bitten off more than I can chew going stalker difficulty first, I only played for a bit last night but died several times without seeing anything. All good though we'll get there.

Stalker doesn't tell you much going in - spent the first hour wondering WTF most of the time, that and dying a lot. Overall it is good though the inventory is a mess and there is no minimap which annoys me

I’m only a couple of hours into Stalker 2 but so far I’m feeling a bit disappointed. Still feels like an old game stylistically and graphically.

Clearly the graphics are a step up but there’s all kinds of artifacts, blurring, pop in and suchlike and that’s on performance mode. Some of the textures and suchlike are poor too.

Doesn’t feel like it’s moved forward enough gameplay wise so for either.

The animations and character models feel a bit meh too. Some shonky sound and voice acting also.

I loved the originals and so I’ll stick with it but I’m very underwhelmed (so far).

Big budget and highly anticipated game been in development for years. Barely gets a dozen posts on here, I’ve not even downloaded it yet on GP. Familiar story, bit sad really. I feel like a few years back we’d all be all over this.

Tried playing stalker 2 in my series x but give up due to the dead zone issue (how did that slip the net), will wait for a patch or two and give it a bash over my 3 week Christmas break! Massive stalker fan so looking forward to it.
