Hi all

Quick question if you can help

i have a series x and gameshare with a mate ( This is all good and set up right) Now the wife gets a bit humpy as i play my series x on the main tv and she cant watch her soppy soaps. I was thinking of picking up a small series s to go with my 1080p pc monitor. My question is can i just also sign in on that with my gamertag ( i dont need gameshare on it as i also have gamepass ultimate.

What i dont want to have to do is keep going through lots of verification each time i sign in to either console. Is this the case ?

You can just sign in, I’ve got my profile on two series s in the house.

Login and play instantly on both. In my case I just enter my pin passcode (I choose to do that) then in but you don’t have to have anything like that on if you don’t want

I know I know this has been done to death so apologies but it's been 3 years and searching the thread on my phone is a pain

Gamapass Ultimate expires tomorrow, I did the conversion 3 years ago, I think I bought 3 years of Gold and activated the Game pass trial which converted Gold to Game pass Ultimate

Is that still the case? If so where is the cheapest place for Gold please and is it the case I buy Gold, apply to Microsoft account and active a game pass trial even if it's only just expired it'll still work?

Thanks

Edit, it seems Gold no longer exists on the Microsoft site but cdkeys still seems to sell it to add to the confusion

Gold was basically renamed to Core a while back.

Conversion rational is now 2:1 i.e a years Core converts to 6 months ultimate.

Yes you can do it pretty much as soon as your current subscription expires.

Great thanks, so I just buy as much Core as I can afford and that will convert to Ultimate if I activate a trial? It's just that Gold is still available on cdkeys which confuses it

I think there is still a limit to the max you can convert. I.e you can't stack like 4 years of Core to try to convert to 2 years ultimate. I believe the limit is 3 years of Core stacked is the max, which will convert to 18 months of ultimate.

The 12mth gold codes from cd keys should still work, they'll just show as 12 mths Core once redeemed.

Ok great thank you

On another note, is there a recommended controller clip for the Xbox controller for a large phone please? The power and volume buttons on my phone are in the middle (I guess they are on most phones so probably not an issue)

In a nutshell I'm trying to decide between keeping my Xbox with gamepass and utilising cloud gaming on my phone for when the Mrs watches TV

Selling the Xbox and getting a PS5 plus portal which will be a better mobile experience but considerable cost

Getting Amazon Luna but they don't have EA games and FC so my son won't be happy but I could just keep the Xbox and not renew gamepass

Swings and roundabouts for all options

Tried playing stalker 2 in my series x but give up due to the dead zone issue (how did that slip the net), will wait for a patch or two and give it a bash over my 3 week Christmas break! Massive stalker fan so looking forward to it.
I jumped on this last night and nearly threw my controller out of the window. I've got it on the easiest difficulty but right at the start a bloodsucking enemy spawns that is invisible and so hard to kill. Not a fun experience but I managed to vanquish this enemy and it is growing on me.

Does feel a bit clunky though so maybe this deadzone fix will solve that.

HA very reminiscent of my experience, although I dont currently have the patience to battle with bad controls so waiting for that fix!

I went to play on my launch Series X last night, and it won't turn on, just nothing at all.

I'm going to try a different power cable today, but if that doesn't work, does anyone know of any common problems that might cause it? Thanks.

Try unplugging it for a few mins. Mine did it a few weeks back and this worked.

Sometimes updates can cause this. Do a full reset / unplug etc.

And nothing, left it unplugged for a couple of hours, tried a different power cord, can't think of anything else to do?

Black Friday is rubbish for Series X too, typical...

Did you try turning it on via the console "X" button, not just via the controller ? Are you getting any response at all ? No fan noise etc ? If not, then sounds like something internal has died.

I tried the controller initially, when the X on there just started flashing, I've used the button on the console every time since.

There's nothing at all, no clicks or lights or fans.
