I might just sell my one x/s get series s with money.
Thinking the same. Also pondering flogging the Switch as it never gets used, and BOTW 2 aside there isn't a single confirmed, unreleased, Switch game that I'm excited about.

It's the "Gamespass machine", and it will push a lot of people towards their subscription model. Great move, imo.

Yeah this has me interested, I was thinking of getting a Series X due to the idiotic digital pricing for new releases but since all first party stuff will be on Game Pass I won't need a disc drive.
And for cross platform titles I'll probably get those on the PS5, or wait for a sale or until they come to Game Pass.
This is how I am seeing it, too.
That £180 for the refurbished One X's from Amazon ain't looking so great now compared to the Series S is it...
Just seems like such a bargain for £249, am very surprised they didn't do the usual 1:1 pound to dollar thing and charge us £299.
Xbox One tanked this gen and lost all the momentum from the brilliant Xbox 360. Now they are just trying to get customer base back by selling a cheap console.
Ok so the Series S has been announced. great. this complicates things a little for me.
Currently I have a One X, well my son now has it. I gifted it to him as I got myself a Ryzen 5 laptop with an RTX 2060 while not exactly next-gen or cutting edge ticks my 1080p gaming boxes nicely.
What I want to understand is just how much of an upgrade the Series S will be over the One X. Yes it'll have faster storage and ray tracing etc but is this actually important to a 13 year old who likes to play things like GTA 5 and Forza. My current thinking is that we stick with the One X for now, and at some point upgrade straight to the Series X for which we would also upgrade the TV to sometime that will do 120hz.
be interested in the thoughts of others in our position.
Even at full price you are mad to buy a one X with a new console around the corner. I just recently played RDR2 on gamepass on my original day one Xbox and never once thought about the missing 4k Res. This generation has been quite forgetable actually. I just hope developers take note.
Be interested to see frame rate comparisons Series S Vs One X.
I personally think there might be some surprises but maybe wishful thinking as a One X owner
You can't really compare 6tf from last gen to 4tf next gen. They were slating the Series S as having 4 teraflops vs the 6 of the One X hence why I thought it would last me a while, but not all about the numbers I know.
The faster load times via the new hard drives would be great, and I'm not that bothered about 4k if I'm honest, 1440p with a decent frame rate would be my preference.
The gamertag with the sub needs to download the game first. Then the 2nd person can download.
Not to go off topic but you're not excited about Mario 3D All Stars, Mario 3D World or the new Hyrule Warriors? What sort of monster are you?![]()
Almost. I have already decided to go PS5 and I'll keep my Switch and upgrade that if and when. I wasn't going to go for an xbox as well because whilst I had some good times with it this gen the PS4 and Switch were more than enough with what little time I have. My PS4 is on it's last legs and my OG XB1 doesn't read discs so they're pretty much worthless so I'll just chuck them in a cupboard somewhere and move on.
