Your bad driving encounters

The thing I hate about this is both vehicles are still driveable. Yes, its crap that you were involved in a small bump but, if a vehicle can move safely then get off the damn road and stop holding everyone else up

It seems to be the done thing that a small bump, all parties just stop and take over the entire site as if no one else exists.

For the "police need to see the scene to see if anyone needs charged for the offence" people - thats what cameras are for... Take the images and then GTFO.

Yeah completely agree, take a few pics, then speak to other parties involved of a safe place to pullover up the road to exchange details. Its a like any small ding now days and its grind to a halt!

I along with another 20+ cars got slowed down by some **** in a small village the other day who decided to park his pickup in the road while he went and chatted to his mates in another pickup on the opposite side of the road, so everyone was having to give way and let the other traffic flow and vice versa, he didn't even park the thing straight either. There is some proper inconsiderate ***** on the road.

Not an encounter as such, but saw this earlier.

Doh.
Well, at least he'll always have a good story :P Hitting a ton on his first day, AND getting nicked!

Took me 10 years to have a car that could do 100mph, I spent the first 9 owning a Smart that hit 99 :D

If I look at the amount of drivers that don't bother having their lights on when it's raining (which I thought was required by law), and count them as morons, it must be half the drivers. Also went to overtake this morning I didn't realise I was behind a bond villain in his dag dag, he released a smokescreen and I had to abort as I couldn't see the road it was that thick. I should have realised when half the reg was covered in soot  .

Similar to...........a mate on his last day in the military of a 22 year career. It's a big day, you have earned your lump sum and an Immediate Pension and you no longer have to suffer the bs or crap conditions of the Forces. So to celebrate - he rode out of the main gates on his motorbike popping a wheelie and then clocked well over a ton his ride home. Yeah, he got pulled and lost his licence - dick.

The issue for him is that it's a story he'll have to tell an insurance company unless he waits about 6 years before trying again.

Incident yesterday which I may have to be a witness for.

I'm Car A turning right and I always tend to let cars out because I know the problems we have here.
Bus C also decides to let Car B out so B drives forward.
Car E also stops to let B out.
Car B comes out and at that moment Scooter D is overtaking and smashes into Car B.
When I say smash he brakes very hard, bumps B quite lightly and falls over causing damage to his Mod mirrors etc.
Scooter D is going mad so me and Car E along with the bus driver shouting out of the window, are having a go at the scooter rider for overtaking where he shouldn't.
He wouldn't have it and calls the Police leaving us all stranded for an hour.
All the Police did was breathalyse Scooter D and Car B but didn't say who was at fault and left saying sort it out with your insurance.
Car A, Car E and Bus C all gave our details to Car B as witnesses but refused Scooter D because in our opinion he should have stayed behind the bus and should have not overtook on the white crossed lines.

Anway OCUK what do you reckon the verdict will be?

and how many points for my cut & paste picture?

Also the Scooter had to get by this crossing somehow -

Likely outcome is it'll go 50/50.

Insurance will say that whilst the scooter shouldn't have overtaken, the car shouldn't have emerged as it wasn't clear (despite vehicles stopping to allow it).

TBH in this situation the scooter should have been arrested and charged with due care and attention but as with most cases these days, police aren't interested unless it's generating revenue.

I'd say a solid 7/10. 9/10 if you used the right colours and make/model. 10/10 if you'd put pedestrians in :p . I'm same as above, I'm sure you shouldn't pull out if you can't see, but we've all been there. Moped rides probably assumed the bus was letting people out/picking up.

I thought you had a dashcam ? (e: confused with rroff & his intimidating pickup)
I'd think it depends how quickly B pulled out, sounds like he really put his foot down, assuming it was ok, if, the biker then didn't have time to stop (or was it wet, too)
did bike overtake because he though bus was turning left though, and also, bikes speed can't have been so great if he had to pull back in before hitting you/A head on.
....so foolish on bikers part but I think it was predominately B - what was drivers age ?

To make this picture I hovered over Google Maps and went down miles and miles of roads around Stoke looking for a bus, in fact there was nothing on the roads until I got to a busy junction.
All I can think is that the images were taken about 4am in the morning.

Funnily enough no but been thinking about one for a couple of weeks, I might have made a post about it.
I'm looking at one of the refurbished Nextbase on ebay, maybe the 522 at £100 - https://www.ebay.com/itm/204130784981

Could have been during lockdown. Roads were empty, very few buses running. I worked during lockdown (buses) and there were days where I did 8hrs of driving and didn't pick up a single passenger

Good thinking Batman.
I was that amazed I called the wife over to verify :)

would his bus have had a dashcam - wideangle ? whether you can request them to release footage

I can only speak for our fleet but ours has at least 7 external cameras.

2 front (high level & dash level)
1 rear
2 rear flank facing forward (one each side)
2 front flank facing backward (one each side)

So 360° coverage.

Footage can be requested but there needs to be a legitimate reason. I do know that police and insurance companies tend to obtain the footage by request with no resistance.
