Z68 Extreme4 Gen3

A board so nice and affordable that i makes me want to throw out my R3E

Note to self, never buy expensive mobos again.

I'll have too keep mine to make the most use of it though, sigh :(

Just finished installing all updates, had a little look in the UEFI bios, it's all totally new for me. Went to, load optimized CPU OC and changed it to 4.6, not touched anything else.
A quick run of LinX to check temps looks ok.
Are there any tweeking guides out yet for the UEFI on the Gen 3, not sure yet which settings to play with and which to leave alone :D

For once, overclocking done by the motherboard hasn't rammed your CPU full of volts.

Ive got a major problem thats really starting to do my head in now, i keep getting this BSOD.

Ive ran prime for 4 hours straight today with the blend test then ran it for 5 hours on small fft's then ran occt cpu & linpack for an hour each and a 25 run LinX with no problems.

Ive just loaded up teamspeak and the same BSOD hit me,anyone any ideas?

Hi guys,

Interesting board, I see nobody has really mentioned the Extreme 4 vs the Pro Fatality board as of yet, anyone know any REAL differences? I see the Extreme 7 has a NF200 on board...the Fatality and Extreme 4 do not.

Cheers

So if you don't register they waive your warrenty? Surely that can't be allowed.

No that is not correct, all Asrock boards carry a 2 year warranty and some high end models have 3 years (extreme 6 & fatality off the top of my head). Boards always go back through the channel i.e back to reseller > distributor > asrock netherlands.

I hope this helps.

Still no sign of the Extreme7 release sadly :( This seems a little odd given that the other Gen3 boards are out. I'm starting to wonder whether Asrock are having problems with the board and therefore not releasing it for sale yet.
