i've got a usb 3 issue. my WD 2 TB HDD is usb3 it works but randomly it cuts out. example, transferring a file the speed goes to about 100MB/s~ then randomly drops to 0MB/s then after about 30-50 seconds it continues..

also when watching a video from it the video freezes randomly for about 20 seconds then continues again.

it doesn't happen when connected to usb2.

i've tryed different drivers but still the same

if you put the cpu under load it'll go high.

VR = voltage rail, on the motherboard

about 10 minutes of being under load, it's at 73c

depends what windows your running

on win 8. none
on win 7 and older, AppCharger and ASRock XFast USB Utility

yeah windows7, Xfast USB any good? no need for the app charger for me as i have a dock next to me.

Xfast USB helps improves external USB2 HDD's speeds slightly

AppCharger works on windows 8..

i just use the tools/Utilities from Z77 Extreme4

so who has windows8 on this ? and what is needed to do so, now i have discovered a few hacks with start8 to get the windows7 feel im prepared to give it another try

i have...

windows 8 has most drivers

for the motherboard i just installed the chipset driver/achi or raid driver

just install your other hardware drivers. such as sound/graphic card, ect

I've modded the 2.30 bios to allow SSD raid0+TRIM. Gonna flash now. I'll upload later if it works.
