Happy to sign De Gea but this cannot be it, we simply have to sign a midfielder. Our midfield was weak last year, now we're three players down (even if one never played) That is not enough depth for a title challenging squad.

3? I count Hargreaves and Scholes as theres no sign yet that Gibson is off.

Fergie seems to foolishly have faith in him, and Cleverly is likely coming back to. I see Fergie as thinking he has 3/4 experienced CMs in Giggs, Fletcher, Carrick and Anderson (along with him bunging Park there a couple times) and can slip in either Gibson or Cleverley in when he's able to

Both have served well. Particularly Palacios who was key to Harry's turn around a few years back.. I'm quite shocked he's gone though. Ideal player to bring on when you want to break down opposing attacks .. Not ideal for keeping possession though.

He was like Zokora in many ways I thought, but much more accomplished at tackling.

(I cant imagine Man Utd bidding 50m Euros for anyone - even if Quatari's take over.......I spat/choked at my screen when another even more dubious rumour started in last 24hrs or so Utd have bid 80m Euros for someone lol)
 
connor whickham has signed for sunderland

bad news for Liverpool..not because they also wanted to sign him, but I suspect it means they get to keep david Ngog as I cannot see us going for him now
 
In Wolves related news, Steven Mouyokolo has gone to Sochaux on loan for a season, with a view to a permanent move. Hasnt really dont anything since joining us from Hull, so can't say I'm sad to see him go.

Looks like Matt Mills wants to join us from Reading. I hope that he isnt the only CB we sign if he does sign though!
