Marvel Vs Capcom 3

Vian whats DHC Glitch? My UMVC3 should be here today, I've never played any of the series. Im going to start in the training mode and learn some combos. As you guys know from my Abel SSF play I dont do combos, are there any characters in UMVC3 that you could recommend for me?

DHC stands for Delayed Hyper Combo, if you're in the middle of doing a hyper combo and input another hyper combo command your next character will come in and do a hyper combo but it also resets the hitstun. I thought my copy would be here today but no such luck, aslong as I get it tomorrow I don't care I just can't wait to start experimenting.

EDIT - I was saying I wasn't sure if the glitch was removed in UMvC3, it has been.

dhc glitch is basically a glitch in the dhc that allows you to whiff a hyper to reset the damage and hitstun scaling. this allows extremely damaging combos and you build extra meter because you are doing a normal combo again. a normal dhc wont reset damage and hit stun so using this glitch will allow you to do stronger combos.

this glitch usually occurs during dhc from a capture (animation) hyper or performing a hyper during a captured state (magneto's hyper grab, tron's serve bot gun, etc.) into a power-up or counter hyper. this glitch is removed anyway so it wont matter anymore.

there are characters like wolverine, hulk, nemesis, sentinel, ghostrider, dormammu, wesker, and of course dark phoenix, who hit very hard and requires minimum execution skills. but the majority of them except wolverine, wesker, dark phoenix and dormammu are very slow and will lose to fast zoning characters like dr doom, dante, zero, wesker, storm, magneto, etc. without proper assists to help them get in. or you can try someone like arthur, who has a lot of projectiles but a little combing ability and just spam chucking weapons all day.

my advise would be try to do everyone's missions and all their moves in training mode, and most importantly learn how to move around with them effectively, and see what you like best. but my guess is hulk and sentinel are probably the best for you, because their combos are extremely easy and they have powerful command throw and armoured moves to help you get though. plus sentinel drones assist is good for everyone. and just follow my guide to pick a top tier if you are unsure who to pick after you picked your favourite character and you need someone to fill in the slots.

btw, i have mastered the desk nemesis relaunch combo and i have a new relaunch combo with hulk using both assists to deal 980k damage with only one meter and no dhcs!

if you are unsure on how to use assists, you should just think of it as a extension of your special move list and better yet, you can block and move around during this "special move". for example you can call the drone with hulk and jump in and hit them with an attack, so they will have to block your attack because the drones are coming. during this time you are free to attack them again or command throw because the drones are still there and it will stuff their attempt to strike back.

Well, it looks like Akuma is my main anchor again :o
I can't find another suitable assist that can handle things on his own also. Maybe Ryu?

I have been trying Akuma, Dormammu and Wesker but things aren't clicking just yet, I really love Nova though I might need to bump one of these guys off my team.

it is not any slower, but most rush down heavy characters got nerfed. so it is not as easy to get in and mess them up anymore (no more random full screen gun juggle for me as well, hence i need a team-mate with wesker and strider!). and it is not as easy to touch of death someone, so i guess there is more room for error in umvc3. i will post my full thought on this later.

but i can tell you out of all the new characters i tried (phoenix wright, frank west, a very little of strider and vergil), strider seems the strongest. if he has 3 bars and lv3 xfactor, he is as good as dark phoenix and he is very good at fighting dark phoenix.

phoenix wright and frank west are very hard to play. while they both have some powerful combos, they are very slow and struggle to open people up for their power-ups. although sending people to jail with phoenix wright is pretty fun.
When you say touch of death do i have more of a chance to exit combos before they redo same move/combo. Cause watching MVC3 one hit on you and your done unless they mess up unless they purposely do a finish it!
May re attempt UMVC3 but not going to rush

Please tell me somebody was just watching the superdojo stream and seen the grand final between combofiend and diosx? That was unbelieveable.

i am trying to learn nova (just for the music!) and i can do this combo pretty consistently (i simplified the bit after the relaunch to make it more usable in a game), but in midscreen sometimes the character is too far to get hit by the second h. anyone tried this combo and have the same problem? he still feels quite weird to move around with and having no fast lows really hurt his mix-up game.

and I have started a tournament. anyone interested please have a look here:

we got 4 people so far and hoping to have more.

EDIT: ok i got it down. you have to be really close when you launch to get the flight combo, and delay the h on the ground to get a relaunch.

Nova is scary with a lock down assist, his low med (slide) is okay I think and obviously the nova slam forward heavy is awesome as it's overhead and an OTG. I'm very seriously considering running him on point and booting Dormammu off my team I'm just not clicking with him where as Nova I loved the minute I started playing him. He works very well with Akuma's tatsu, he hits like a brick wall aswell which is always great. Shame that his special moves zap his red health.

There's alternative moves to the one that drains health, and if you have him on point, you could decide to keep him on point until he dies, which makes the red health loss meaningless.
I know the suggestion sounds obvious, but 2 meters to dhc someone in and out safely, is actually a lot of meter in this game.

his low slide is too slow. but i could use it like she-hulk slide to punish, follow ups, and suprise people. my offensive options with nova are tri-jump l, box-jump h, and random slide. i think i can stick him in my team with wesker and strider. i have to play very different from the old mvc3, where i used to maul people to death. but in umvc3 i think i have to stick to zoning with wesker and nova with the strider assist and play a lot more cautiously. i might have to change my team order to nova, wesker, strider though.

i just watched the level-up stream from last night. combofiend is by far the best mvc3 player.

btw, are you going to join the tournament drunzer?

That is pretty much what I have been doing.

good combos for you to learn ruben. the first one combos off a overhead and there is one combo off throw. most of them do very good damage and builds decent meter, most importantly they are done in investigation and courtroom mode without any evident and assists, hard execution techniques or timing like mid combo mode change or extended jump chains.
