*** Infestation: Survivor Stories ***

Thing is, it doesn't matter which way you cut it... the game is in an Alpha stage, it doesn't matter if it's a month away from release it's currently an Alpha, there are going to be serious bugs.

I must admit the zombies are seriously lame in this game... Not sure if I prefer the crazed drugged up DayZ zombies or the stoner WarZ zombies.

Zombies are not done correct yet, they is loads issues with this Alpha Give it time. We just server Testing that is all right now.

Yup the games are so similar that even the thread is like the DayZ one

Look out for hitched up dresses melee handbags and low flying dummies

:D

This thread is awful

Reminds me a lot of SWTOR, fanbois in one corner, haters in the other - that ended well. The thing is, people paid fot the game whether they call it an alpha, beta or zeta whatever, they expect a certain level of playability. They should have just done invites for alpha, paid in beta two weeks later.

As it is, glad i didnt buy in. Seems like were getting the 'yell friendly' DM frame of mind already, so theyll really need to sort out player zones asap or people will just give up in droves.

100% agreed, but they knew it was Alpha when they paid for it. Paying for an unplayable crashing beta then fair enough moan away. But is it really classed as paying for an Alpha and not paying for a pre-order with a bonus? Even though the bonus is a mess, but then again anything with the word "Alpha" in a game and paying extra over a beta is a wide birth for most people with common sense. Or those people who have common sense who pay extra but "understand" it will be a mess. People can't really moan until it is it beta stages. The Alpha should have been the exact same asking price as the beta pre-order, in fact really everyone should have had a chance on the Alpha with a email system in place to select random folk.

They have fixed the crashes atleast for me. 2 new patches last night. Servers are way more stable lots of bugs fixed still a lot in there though. Great fun actually being able to play with friends. Scope hated it after the first night because of all the bugs now its been patched he has change his mind.

Good news m8, not bad for just 2 days aye.

I wasn't really moaning in my post, I don't care about them if I'm honest. I was alive 30 + days in DayZ and had about 60 zombie kills, I had more murders than Zombie kills lol..

so this game apparently was in development before Dayz.....they bring out an alpha now even though a beta release is in a few weeks..smurt team is smurt

The games industry is a business, they have to make money and with Dayz standalone they have to get it out now, at the sacrifice of it not being ready 100%. Games do this all the time especially coming up to Christmas, it can make or break a studio, look into what happened at Bizarre Creations with release schedules.

This is probably more the decision of management and publishing, not devs.

Had another hour today and the crashes fixed for me at work. I can see this working but I'm not convinced its for me. I still prefer Dayz.

The whining on some of these forums recently is driving me mad, I might have to take a break!

I really don't understand what people were expecting when they downloaded the alpha.... The clue is in the name alpha.
The game will have received 1000's of man hours of testing in the first hour release! There is no possible way the devs could re create that with a hand full of testers playing a few hours at a time.
The alpha is for fault and bug finding along with stress testing the servers.
If this was the full release and it had this many bugs I could understand the moaning but for an alpha it does what it needs to do, it breaks often so the bugs can be fixed.
If people don't like the buggy mess of the alpha just don't play it and let the others who want to make the game better play and get it all sorted out.
I remember when mw2 came out on ps3, they had to take the servers down for 8 days to get them fixed! That was a triple A title with a team who have made countless games.
The team on warz is around a year old and this is their first (as a team) full release and personally I think they are doing a great job.
