HELP !!! (Urgent) 290x not being detected!

Do you see anything at all with the R9 plugged in when you switch the PC on from cold? No POST screens or anything? If that's the case it does sound like the card is duff.

You haven't turned off the PCI-E lane its in have you?
I do find it quite odd that with both the 290 and the 8800 installed, it's booting the 8800 as the primary.

I still think it's bios setting issue, but only so far we can go if OP can't get into the bios without a keyboard.

About the USB keyboard not being detected till reaching Windows....OP have you made sure your keyboard is connected to a USB 2.0 port not a USB 3.0 port? From what I recall, for some USB 3.0 port devices wouldn't be usable until at Windows.

Almost all new motherboards no longer has the PS2 port...

it has one

I've tried removing all the cards deactivating on board driver sweeping and then booting up with the 290.... No display out put at all guys.

Nothing what's so ever been at this for 2days.

I think you'd be surprised how maybe still carry the PS2 port, especially the high end boards.

Something about the best keyboards still being PS2 because it can handle all keys being pressed down at once where as most USB based keyboards cant if I recall correctly or somewhere along that lines

Not the onboard "driver" in windows...you need to get into the bios and disable the actual onboard GPU.

Forget windows and focus on finding way to get into the bios. Have you check that your USB keyboard to the USB 2.0 ports (one of the two black ones not the blue ones) like I suggested?

Tbh it's just one of the ocuk Tech labs cards it does not necessarily say.

I don't get how I can put other ati cards in and they work no problem. Put a 7970 in there and it worked straight away. Pfft.

Guess il have to ring ocuk tomorrow and expect some kind of miracle...
