Who here owns a Fiesta ST?

Personally I would get the blue (not biased AT ALL.... :D) but a chap locally has just bought a red one and it looks quite nice. Given that you save £30 a month and the car is otherwise identical (I assume identical spec apart from paint) I would get the red one.

Picked up my red one on Thursday :). Such a great car to drive. I must look like a right idiot when I get out of it grinning from ear to ear. Planning a trip up into the lakes Easter weekend hopefully to stretch its legs on some nice roads.

My only issue so far is the seats and my driving position. I feel really comfy when in the car driving but I do end up with some back ache afterwards. Will have to play around with my seating position but its something I will no doubt get used to.

Couple from a photoshoot I did last weekend which shows my 15s off better than my phone can.

Does anyone know of a decent place to look for a set of the 16" Zetec S /ST150 style wheels? Been looking for a while and just cant seem to find a full set without any huge gouges or flaws in them.

Or... Any recommendations for 16's?

Gumtree or owners club forums would be my suggestion.

Look at MK7 16" wheels, in better nick and look good, lower offset also ;) Check mine.

MAJ, car is looking sweet dude.

Right guys I want a bang for buck mod. Say 200-300 quid to net me the most power.

Currently I've got a Mountune CAIS, Milltek 60mm flexi, custom non resonated centre pipe (2.25") and Piper 3" outward rolled backbox (2.25" bore as well).

Where am I best putting my money? Manifold and decat or similar or something like Dreamscience? I hear these can get quite good gains. I just want the best bang for 200 quid ideally because it seems pointless chasing for loads more power with the cost involved after coming from my Type R previously which was a lot quicker to be fair.

Really don't know what to do. I am hopefully going out to buy a ST-2 tomorrow but can't decide what to do. My heart (and all the pics above) tells me to go for the blue at £170 per month but my head is telling me to go for the red at £140 per month. I need help! I can't decide on whether I like the red what does everyone else think, and does anyone have some nice picture of their red one to persuade me :)

How is it so cheap do you get a special rate or is it finance over 10 years or something?

Hmm it's a tough choice. The standard cat and manifold are restrictive but a full exhaust will only gain you a few BHP afaik.

You can get Newman cams for that sort of price range and they are my best mod to date. That said they probably would benefit from a non-restricted exhaust system...

Only issue with cams is then labour to fit and surely a proper map would be beneficial. I don't wanna go mad because it'll never be a quick car. I have seen some quite rave reviews with my kind of mods and the dreamscience on race+, I'm wondering if the easy plug and play option may be a good shout here :) I find mine tails off quite quickly after about 5k which is a shame so if I could add a bit more then that'd be great. Obviously cams would be ideal to move the power up here but I don't wanna dig too deep as I doubt I'll keep it loads longer.

Bought some new Yoko S drives so I have a matching set and stuck my summer wheels back on, so much better feeling (and looking) on 195/45/16's opposed to 195/50/15's I ran over winter.

Gonna get some rear axle spacers, plastics done satin black and possibly a light tint on the back windows then I've got no other plans for the exterior, subtle is good for me.

Don't think I could ever buy a Fiesta ST, but would love to have a good drive of one. Really think the facelift exterior looks spot on when it's been lowered a tad too.

You would be mad to consider cams with the standard manifold, think about the role of the cams in the engine and how they help generate more power....by helping the engine flow more air (both into the engine or out through the exhaust, be this through longer duration or higher valve lift of the revised cam profile). The stock manifold is simply so restrictive it cant flow the extra gases/air that the cams will now draw through the cylinder head so you wouldnt get the full benefit. It wouldnt run right without mapping if you did it too, cant swap cams on a modern engone without adjusting fuel/ignition appropriately....so just more expense.

Look at the mountune kits - stage 1 is manifold, cat back/sports cat, and remap. Stage 2 adds cams to this.. You wont get the full benefit from cams with the stock manifold, it just doesnt flow well enough.

Your next best logical step is manifold with remap (manifold without remap runs the risk of making it run lean). Peak gains will not be huge but throttle response will be sharpened and the engine will rev more freely as its not strangled so badly. If you cant afford both them just a remap will help the car drive better as throttle response would be much sharper and it will feel more responsive as a result.
