How many Focus ST owners on here

Can any of the ST225 Focus owners look at this ad for me please.

Is the work that's been done to this normal or does it sound like its gone majorly wrong at one point? it only caught my eye as its been for sale for a while at what seems like a decent garage for a cheap price considering its also remapped.
My main aim was to sell my car in july and then look for a well maintained ST225 but the prices are all over the place ranging from 4.8k all the way to 6k for 55/06 plates with the same sort of mileage. :confused:

Thanks for looking. It's a bit strange that it's says it's had things like injectors and gaskets or whatever done also. I wouldn't say it's suspiciously cheap though it has done 95k. I've Seen a few private go for 5k lately with 60-70k on. I'm just being impatient I think as I can't sell my car private Untill it's got 12 months Mot on due in July. I just seen that locally cheap and thought I'll just bin my ST220 in towards it on part ex but I think I'll wait

I knew u can do it a month before the date as it says but I didn't know it can be done whenever. It needs a 10k mile/1 year service aswell though and I'm pretty sure a few things will need doing if I get it Mot'd :(
 
That's what I meant to ask about the focus ST also how common are the cracked liners that can result in needing an engine replacement?
Googling around it's mentioned quite a lot on various Ford forums. I've heard remapping can make it more prone to it is that right :confused:
Is it the same with the S40 T5 and Mondeo 2.5T?

It's a lot of internet (and tuner) scare mongering to be honest. Failure rate is somewhere around 5% and even when it does fail a few of the specialists can put a repair shim in and save the engine. Block mod (4 shims between the cylinders to stop them moving and cracking) costs between £500-£800 and typically also involves a full belt and waterpump change.

The whole issue started with the Volvo's and the Mondeo has the same engine as the Focus.
 
That car is too cheap.

The wheels scream "do not buy" as stuff like that says a lot about the previous owner :D

You need to be spending at least £5500 and be extremely picky mate trust me as I got stung and mines having a £1250 stint in the paintshop as we speak!
