I know you’re jesting, but seriously, I can’t understand people who say this is a bad deal. £60m over 4 years. Could we buy a Saka replacement for that money? Of course not. Plus we would have to add wages to the transfer fee.
Saka is already the 6th most valuable player in the world, £60m over 4 years is decent. I know for a fact the likes of City, Pool, Utd, Chelsea would all pay him that.
Na I want our players to consistently win stuff and /or compete at the highest level with the likes of man city and real Madrid before commanding wages that there players earn..
Thats all I am asking...
Agree with this - he's amongst the best young wingers in the world, his attitude is fantastic, and his ceiling is huge. They'd be mad not to pay to keep him, as long he wasn't taking the ****.Oh Saka is worth every penny you are paying him IMO. Doesn't seem like he is too big for his boots and I can't say I have ever heard a bad word about the lad. This is always the conundrum with top players who might leave. Do you pay them a massive salary and chance that they will drop their form or do you sell and try and replace with a cheaper option and hope to develop.
Saka is vital to Arsenal at the moment and you would be silly not to pay him a top salary to keep him. If you didn't someone else would.
He’s not fishing imo, he genuinely believes in what he’s saying.I bet you didn't think you were going to get this many bites @jonneymendoza
I hope it’s not us, I’ve never been convinced about him like some are.Apparently Mason Mount will be allowed to leave Chelsea, wonder where he'll end up.
He’ll join his best mate rice at arsenalApparently Mason Mount will be allowed to leave Chelsea, wonder where he'll end up.
Good squad player we need them for champs league and next yearI hope it’s not us, I’ve never been convinced about him like some are.
He’s rejected a £200k a week offer from Chelsea. I don’t think he’s any better than £200k pw, and he’s gonna want to be a starter.Good squad player we need them for champs league and next year
Yea im not baiting anyone. He’s not fishing imo, he genuinely believes in what he’s saying.
Rice and mount at arsenal plus a world class backup cb and we should be good for next season. He’ll join his best mate rice at arsenal
Saka’s basic is £200k pw. If you class that as silly money, then your heads in the clouds.Yea im not baiting anyone.
Baz is wrong in assuming so as always.
Anyways I hear what others have said but I still feel that we are taking a gamble offering silly money for players who have not won the big trophies yet.
We've been burned soo many times offering huge contracts to players who all of a sudden switch off and take the money week in week out.
Sorry I thought it was 300k.Saka’s basic is £200k pw. If you class that as silly money, then your heads in the clouds.
Yea thats true and his still young. The chances of of him becoming a Aubameyang mk2 are slim but we never ever imagined Aubameyang going to crap after he signed as well.If Arsenal want to compete at the top level they'll have to start paying top wages. No way around it.
You're better off paying high wages to a player who is proven in the league, it's pretty cheap in many respects. You could end up with a Pepe/Sancho situation... paying an absolute fortune for a near useless player.

Robbo, would you give rashford a top wages?
His been one of the best strikers in the league
I may be remembering this incorrectly but didn't the vast majority of his goals come in a purple patch in the middle of the season? I thought he was pretty poor early on and towards the end. He's clearly a good player and when on form is up there but it doesn't seem like he's consistent enough.Based on this season, yes. I do have concerns about the previous couple of seasons though. He was utterly awful for ages.
