Summer Transfer Window 23/24

the problem with handing out £300k+ contracts is that all agents of CL grade players will now want more for their clients (when dealing with Arsenal, for example - same applies to all clubs with these kind of wages at the top). Current squad members will also come looking for new contracts if they feel they perform as well.

Salaries will be the biggest stumbling block for Newcastle over the next year or two, our revenue can't handle them (which is why our top earner is on 120k)

Na let's give Saliba 300k as well for playing good for 3/4 of a season and winning nothing
He played pretty well for marseille when he was on loan, he didnt win young player of the year 2022 in france for nothing you know ;) was also named in team of the year

He’s not just done it for one season

If squad members come knocking it’s still up to the club. If they they’re worth it and they can afford it, they’ll get it.

I didn’t see Martinelli not signing until he was offered the same salary as Saka.

You can’t really factor that into a contract offer though. You have to go on his performance now, not a hypothetical future.

Whats happening with Rashford’s contract?

Oh I know that - not sure what's happening with Rashford. He deserves a good contract for his performances this season, but he was stealing a living the past couple of years. :(

When’s the window opened.

I’m bored now that’s Champions league is secured.

I can see us going in for Madders again instead of Szoboszlai would be chuffed with either.

Could be had for a lot cheaper also leaving bigger budget for other targets.

Year left on his deal?

Na I want our players to consistently win stuff and /or compete at the highest level with the likes of man city and real Madrid before commanding wages that there players earn..

Thats all I am asking...
You're not going to compete with the top teams unless you pay sufficiently to keep your best players at the club. Bizarre logic. In a month's time you'll be whinging that your owners don't invest.
