Great news I got a 5k tiffy, not bad for just over a month on a single cored PC

Well I've got 7 Wu's queued up on various PCs to go to a Stanford server thats not accepting replies at the mo (171.64.122.138:8080).
I suspect quite a few people in the team have this problem too, and prolly explains the hit in ppd over the last couple of days.

Indeed - there is talk that some people have been receiving credit for the misplaced WUs slowly, I think I only lost two but I expect you have a lot more not accounted for

What with the problems with some regular WUs over the last few days too we've done well to only lose the 17K on last week - hopefully when the floodgates open we will be doing even better than our neighbours

I never noticed any missing (partly due to being away), but I did notice several of my clients were given WUs that took 2-3 times longer for roughly the same points.

was hoping that I could atleast resurect one or two of them!

VeNT - don't let them take your hard drives - theirs laws againest that! well that data on them anyway - if you have to surender them and their operational you are alowed to format / write zeros to them first.

On more important matter - top ten dumper! still come on slacker you should have displaced me by now

As to the missing WU's - mine are all accounted for just all queueing for the fs-bus

Would have been higher but my internet went down for a day. Lost about 10 hours of crunching on 4 clients!!!

Oh well, at least I am still ahead of 2bullish

I also bagged a new borg last night. Tis a 2.something P4 and will be running for around 8-10 hours a day.

Damn im slipping Not much i can do until i can afford to upgrade...
Got this work unit 2138 and it recons it will take 16days and 23hours to complete on a 3200xp, is this a bug or is it time i changed to deadline less work units?

WHy consider deadlineless WUs? Are you afraid of missing the deadline?

There aren't any deadlineless WUs so no luck there.

What are you using to give you an ETA? If it is FahMon, I have found that it looks at the last x number of frames and works out its ETA from there. Bit silly really as I have had it look at frames that took several hours because my PC was switched off or I paused the service and then worked out a 41 pointer was going to take a day or more!

Best just leaving it for now and see if the ETA decreases. I wouldn't worry anyway as most WUs seem to have a good 2 or 3 week deadline anyway.

If the ETA doesn't decrease then you've got some major issues with your PC

It is working at 99% isn't it? and it is using the extra instructions yes?

Recovered output this week , and the P4c is on two very big WUs (nearly 800 points in total) so my average should get a bump in a few days.

I'll be borging a P4 2.8 soon, and hopefully these slow-arse P3s will finish something ...

The X2 has been replaced with an Athlon 64 [email protected].

Just looked into it more, it seems to be a problem with FahMon, everytime i open it the ETA decreased until it got down to 4days, weird bug i guess, but happy that my machine is running fine. Thanks for the replys though.

Would've been a really good week for me if it hadn't been for the Berkeley-style stats hiccup from Stanford - still 12k+ isn't a number to be sneezed at. Next week should be good (assuming all the delayed WUs are credited properly and the farm doesn't do it's usual messing about whilst I'm gone).

As usual, thanks to Rich for the news (one of the highlights of my week ) and a warm foldy-type welcome to the new folders
