£1850 Budget for Gaming Rig, Monitor snd Rift Bundle.

Might be game is running in 4k instead of 1440p ?
Have you Installed Nvidia Geforce Experience ?

Not the best but you can edit settings before launching a game..

https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/geforce-experience/

With the One X, I'm pretty sure you can stream from one system to the other ? If your other half is on PC, should be able to stream your game to the Xbox ... Good for though or opposite way ;)

Also , is the Division Saved to SSD ?
Load times should be 70 quicker then Xbox due to SSD and Sata3 connection. Know standard Xbox one only use Sata2 for storage speed

Battlefield 1 wont load?

AT9PTyl.jpg

Thats one of the menu screens i get, i dont know if that looks right but it looks to basic for me, like somethings are missing.

Then when i select campaign from there i just get a spinning circle in the top right corner but nothing happens?

Any ideas?

I tried running BF1 as Admin and that sorted out the menu screen but the game still wont load, just the spinning screen.

I then tried changing both Origin and BF1 to Admin in compatibility and Ive now lost the pictures on the menu screen again and the game still wont load?

I'm starting think this was a bad idea and a waste of money, everything I try to do with the pc has issues! I was warned about this but had no idea it was this bad!!

No, it wasn't a bad idea - once you've ironed out these few glitches you'll never look back. TBH, there shouldn't be any issues you've bought quality components with solid driver support - it's going to be some innocuous glitch which unfortunately is ruining your experience.

For now:

Double, double check that your running at 1440p - stick to native resolutions for now in all games while you're finding your feet. If you are running/using Geforce Experience (i don't use this so not familiar with interface) make sure it's not conflicting with the in game settings - i'm not sure which takes precedence - but @orbitalwalsh will probably be able to advise on this.

Unfortunately, i'm busy - but fortunately orbital's about - but suspect it's a driver/setup issue.

When i have time i'll re-read the thread - but for now i would update/re-install your GPU drivers - make sure their the latest Win 10 64 bit WHQL version - Clicky. I don't install the 3D crap - just the drivers.

Double check the desktop screen resolution on your desktop is set to 1440p via Nviidia control panel or Windows display.

I would also reinstall the chipset drivers - before the GPU drivers.

If this has no affect i would uninstall and reinstall BF1 and the Division after the driver updates - and again stick to your screens native resolution.

Also, as @orbitalwalsh mentioned, make sure your games are being saved to your SSD - as your load times should be significantly faster. We may need to test your SSD - but your Window's boot time is fast?

You shouldn't need to run in Admin - if your problems persist, and although i don't like the this method, it may be prudent to do a fresh Windows install. If you do this you would need to disconnect your second HDD - and source/backup all your drivers to your second HDD so you can install them quickly when you hook i up after install.

I can't comment on the Gigabyte App - I've never used it but I trust @orbitalwalsh's judgement on this completely - and from reading it seems to have simplified things for you - re: RGB etc... Although, please don't use it to update your BIOS.

Additional: I doubt you have, but remove any clocks and keep the memory at 2933Mhz for now.

Cheers Plec.

I will go through what youve mentioned.

Windows loads super quick its just a few things seem a little sluggish at times and I wasnt expecting that. I did have origin save to the ssd and the game on the ssd and was having the problems. Ive just uinstalled origin and im now redownloading to the HDD.

If that doesnt work can i use the restore point i created straight after I installed windows?

It seems im having to run everything as admin to get it to work??

Hi Mate, I tried loading the game up through the Nvidia experience but still the same!

I’m going to check all my drivers and have a play around, if that doesn’t work I’m going to reinstall windows and start again.

Feeling a bit fed up:mad: It took a bit of persuading with the misses to invest and all I’ve done since I got it is take it apart and have problems running things, even she’s giving me stick, “I told you it was a waste of money and you should have stuck with your Xbox”

My games are on my SSD but I want them on the HDD, my SSD is only 256 and won’t hold many.

I will let you know how I get on and what goes out the window first, the pc or the misses :)

Ive decided to start again. Im restoreing windows and starting from scratch. I havent kept any of the drivers, im going to download everything from scratch once windows has restored.

I will go back in thread and go from there.

The system was a bit messy with things all over the place where i didnt have my HDD set up to start with.

Hopefully setting it all up first and then downloading the bits i need will help

Thanks for your help.lads.

I see some of those threads earlier.

The computer has been stuck on "resetting this pc, 10%" for ages. Is this normal? The HDD light is on so its doing something?

I think last time I gave up after 2 hours and hit reset and it carried on afterwards pmsl .
How long have you waited

Think of pc as kids , you didn't need them to have fun, they are expensive and many many hours trouble shooting their problems , but they are far superior then anything on the planet :D
Well how I justify it anyways, but I haven't played any game in 7 months !!! Hahaha

I get what you maen mate and im sure it will be fine, its been a couome of hours now i think. How do i reset?

Have a look at ocuk prices for Aorus cards... Will make you laugh

Miners mate, they ruined it for everyone. Apparently the 1070 in SLI is the best for mining. Bitcoin seems to be falling so hopefully that will slow things down and prices will go back to where they were!

I'm totally restored, I'm going to update everything one by one and then reinstall Origin and Uplay and see how I get on.

Good luck !

Let us know how you get on

Will do, should be a bit cleaner this time round. I know a bit more and I have all the history from you and @Plec to follow.

I will let you know.

I will probably leave it on overnight downloading games, do you do that? Is it safe?

I will probably leave my RAM memory a is? We changed it last time because of the issue with The Division resetting the PC but it wasn't that so shall I leave it where it is?

Or cry - I have 3 builds planned with the Ryzen 2 release. Lets hope the bottom falls out of the bitcoin market in the next couple of months - coupled with the demand for memory collapses :/

Best of luck - look back at the order you installed and what possibly you could revise/adapt.

Yes, totally safe - no problem.

You can change it to 2933Mhz - no problem. But for now leave it at defaults as it will make no difference to what you're doing.

Bump it to 2933MHz+ once you've established stability/zero conflicts.

@Plec @orbitalwalsh

Chipset done
GPU Driver done
APP Centre done

I'm a bit confused with mother board driver, when I click the link it takes me to the the gigabyte page, under drivers I have Chipset, LAN, Audio and Sata but no motherboard driver, am I being a doughnut?

AMD Chipset drivers are the motherboard drivers - one and the same.

Right click the desk top and you'll find the Nvidia Control Panel
