im sensing someone doesn't like Jews.....

*** Shut up *** - Will Gill

Even ignoring most of your ridiculous statements here, you realise that things like the telephone were actually invented by immigrants? Albeit to the US rather than the UK

Alexander Graham Bell finalized the telephone fella that is how it is. He was born March 3, 1847 Edinburgh, Scotland. And if what i said is so "ridiculous" then debate it and prove otherwise. Find something that compares with the steam engine, light bulb, the telephone, railways, jet engine, ophthalmoscope, CT scanner.

All i see is three Jewish people who profited very well from Britain and probably bogged off with the money elsewhere. What did they actually invent instead of taking money out of the economy?

What's with your hypocrisy and double standards? Still rife as ever apparently.

In that thread about Muslims you were recommending that immigrants should send their wages back to their homeland.

Don't waste your time with this guy Castiel or anyone thinking of doing so.

If we limit ourselves to more recent history, some notable British Institutions were founded or built by Immigrants...
[...]

I'm not sure some of these posters like the idea of facts being presented, it tends to upset their argument/world view formed mostly from blind prejudice.

I'm not entirely sure with your first statement if you are agreeing or disagreeing. If you want other examples - Nikola Tesla is a pretty good one. Immigrant to the US from Serbia/Croatia I think. Would you like a list of his inventions? Perhaps attitudes like yours are why he chose to go there instead of the UK.

With regards to the ridiculousness point - why in the world would you restrict benefits to inventions? There is something to be said about economic prosperity, which Castiel's examples demonstrated. Not entirely sure what your issue is with the fact they are Jewish. Does that somehow make their contribution worth less? Benefits doesn't just mean inventions.

Grow up. Not only are you unfit to discuss issues you also show a childlike attitude of resentment. This is a whole different thread yet again you are going to carry your butthurt here as well? Well if by ignoring you mean refuse to debate issues and resort to dismissing posts after the first paragraph or resort to insults then be my guest.

It just shows bad you are are debating.

I'm not debating anything.

I'm pointing out that in the other thread you said you want immigrants to expel money from the British economy and in this thread you are saying that the guy who made Tesco or whatever is bad for doing it, why? because he's a Jew?

He should take the time to learn not only this fact and act responsibly to reduce it but also take his earning's back to improve his homeland

If we have 10000 of those Romanians that started sleeping at marble arch in hyde park, then that will be a real problem.

Maybe - though would those people not be here already if they wanted to be... its not like criminal gangs, beggers, escorts need worry about employment laws... they're already able to come here if they want they're just not able to be employed legally - why should laws covering legal employment be a big factor for these people?

Perhpas there are some part time criminal elements who also want a regular legal job.... I don't think you'd see a huge increase though - most of the people coming here as a result of being able to legally seek work will be people legally seeking work. People wanting to do mostly illegal things are likely here already.

Tesco are a company not an individual and it is completely different. Yes they take the money out but they never actually go home and never come back. They stay here like leeches sucking up every small grocery store and petrol pump. Now then u know fine well that is completely different from as i said wanting someone after 25 years of employment in the UK to go back to his country of origin and build a decent home for his children so they can get an education and work there. Instead of this happening generation after generation just wants in to Britain.

Apparently Rofflay is like Ghandi on the political spectrum, his words not mine :)

Jews - check
Muslims - check
Immigrants - check

:)

That would be funny except the fact that you are a Muslim attempting to highlight someone else as a Jew hater. Pot kettle black springs to mind here. The problem is i just used the names of the three worst people on his list. They could have been Hindu's for all i knew. I just picked out the worst three on the list and they happened to be Jewish. And i love how you hide behind your persona and never reveal your history. I would love to know are you a native convert or are you or middle eastern origin? And could you perhaps tell us your views on say unlimited immigration to area's around Mecca and other Muslim nations?

Yes I know Tesco are a company.

Your post tarnished the individuals not the company, see emboldened part:

All i see is three Jewish people who profited very well from Britain and probably bogged off with the money elsewhere. What did they actually invent instead of taking money out of the economy?

So what was the point of your post again?

To make people aware of your hypocrisy, double standards, and rapidly swaying views from thread to thread. Sorry if it hurts, but only you're responsible for what you post, you cant blame me for noticing it. :)

Yea MS do wonders for the high streets that would be why most of them are dead now and filled with empty shops.

Rhetoric and nonsense. Marks and Spenser are mainstays of the British High Street, they are not to blame for the economy.

The same Tesco was pay little tax and employ hordes of minimum wage workers and again destroyed local shops and town centers for out of town industrial estate's?

Tesco pay significant amounts of tax in fact, it is not Amazon. It also pays above minimum wage and is one if the UK's largest employers.

Rothchilds lol you mean the jewish banker robbers? Yea they loved to fund fights against Napoleon as Napoleon was fighting against people like the Rothchilds and Kings and Queens who were robbing thier own people blind. Apart from the Mini and Shampoo what else did they build in that list? I do not see anything which would really transform Britain like the steam engine, light bulb, the telephone, railways, jet engine, ophthalmoscope, CT scanner.

You did not see I mentioned Frenchman Marc Isambard Brunel and his son Isambard Kingdom Brunel then, are you saying that those two engineers did not transform Britain?

Interestingly Alexander Graham Bell's mother was an American Immigrant. The light bulb was also independently invented by an American, the Jet Engine by a German, the Ophthalmoscope by another German, the CT scanner by an American.

Speaking of Babbage, his friend John Herschel was the son of a German immigrant, he invented the Cyanotype, his father William Herschel was an eminent astronomer who contributed to the perfection of telescopes and the discovery of various astronomical theories etc, including Infra-Red. He was also an accomplished composer. Speaking of composers, Handel's Messiah, a mainstay of British culture was composed by the eponymous George Handel, a German immigrant. One of Britain's highest ranked writers, Kazuo Ishiguro is a Japanese immigrant, the designer of the Olympic Tower is an Indian immigrant, Anish Kapoor. One of the most accomplished British Architects, Zaha Hadid, who aside from being a woman, is also an Iraqi immigrant.

There are examples everywhere if you look. Your opinion is based on a lack of knowledge and is therefore flawed.

They built a brand new M&S in the Westfield 10 minutes walk from me. Just because they closed the unprofitable branch down your town centre, doesn't mean M&S are dead.

Just shows what you base your narrow minded views on. How about you base them on facts and figures instead of simply "OMG M&S closed my local branch, that must mean they're DEAD!"

The "they're taking all our jobs, we're full up" lines are tired and clichéd. If there are 5 millions unemployed, with no available jobs, then which jobs do you think all these immigrants will take, because I bet the unemployed among immigrants is substantially lower than it is among native residents.

I never said they would take our jobs...

When you say American you mean a British person moving abroad to another country founded by Brits. Then you claim that it was actually invented by an American. Personally i think they were British they were born in Britain and were only first generation immigrants to America. America basically was British back then. If this were the case how come you say that an Indian was the designer of the olympic tower? Surely by your own logic he is British not Indian? You see what i just did there?

So which German invented the Jet engine? Frank Whittle had the first engine patented in 1930. In 1935 Hans von Ohain was still not finnished? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Whittle

Tesco control 30% of the UK grocery market and have over 2,000 stores in the UK. In 2010 they made a profit of £3.4bn, yet they will still go to great lengths to avoid paying tax. Using complex legal structures Tesco has avoided stamp duty land tax to the tune of £90-£100m and £23m in stamp duty.

Tesco has its headquarters in the sleepy Hertfordshire town of Cheshunt. Something else that you can find there is Cheshunt Overseas, a limited liability partnership that has enabled Tesco to avoid £16m in tax.

Well, what you just did there was further illustrate your lack of knowledge...Thomas Edison for example was an American, his father was Canadian and his ancestry was in fact Dutch. He was not a Briton who moved to the United States, neither were his Parents.

America was not basically British in the 19th and 20th Centuries...it gained its independence in 1776 and many settlers in the United States are not British, but from a vast array of other countries.

Sir Anish Kapoor is an Indian born British national...therefore he is an Indian immigrant and is relevant to the point being made about the positive side of immigration into the UK.

So which german invented the jet engine? Frank Whittle had the first engines i thought? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Whittle

Hans von Ohain invented the first operational Jet Engine two years prior to Frank Whittle.

Hans Joachim Pabst von Ohain (14 December 1911 – 13 March 1998) was a German engineer, and designer of the first operational jet engine. His first design ran in March 1937, and it was one of his engines that powered the first all-jet aircraft, the prototype of the Heinkel He 178 in late August 1939. In spite of these early successes, other German designs quickly eclipsed von Ohain's, and none of his engine designs entered widespread production or operational use.

Von Ohain independently developed the first jet engine during the same period that Frank Whittle was doing the same in the UK, their designs serving as yet another example of simultaneous invention. Von Ohain's Heinkel HeS 1 ran only weeks before Whittle's WU, but did not run on its own power until six months later. von Ohain's design flew first in 1939, followed by Whittle's in 1941. Operational jet aircraft from both countries entered use only weeks apart. After the war the two men met, and became friends.

Tesco avoid tax as do any other British company, however they still pay significant taxes to the exchequer, so your position that Tesco pay little tax is flawed.

I can't comprehend why the hell you think these people [immigrants] are so bad. They are normal human beings who have been born elsewhere. They live, they die, they eat, they ****. Why the animosity?!

Whipped up into a frenzy by the Daily Mail? :p

De-humanise an 'out-group' and blame them for the problems of the 'in-group'. Problems such as 'they took our jerbs'.

Nothing new, but I don't want to invoke Godwin's law here ;)

Idealistically, the whole world belongs to all of us. Practically, you can't have one country or region housing too many, for all sorts of reasons. But we could probably take a few million more before society collapses under the strain ;)

Well Wiki states that Whittle was finnished with his patent first but i never knew he never flew first. This is splitting hair's here lol. But there is also an old story and comedy about Swan v Edison and who really invented the lightbulb. For me i think Swan is the true inventor and Edison is nothing more than a common patent thief who went on to oust Swan from his own invention.

http://www.coolquiz.com/trivia/explain/docs/edison.asp

Additionally, Joseph Swan, a British inventor, obtained the first patent for the same light bulb in Britain one year prior to Edison's patent date. Swan even publicly unveiled his carbon filament light bulb in New Castle, England a minimum of 10 years before Edison shocked the world with the announcement that he invented the first light bulb. Edison's light bulb, in fact, was a carbon copy of Swan's light bulb.

How do two inventors, from two different countries the invent exact same thing? Very easily, if one follows in the others footsteps. Swan's initial findings from tinkering with carbon filament electric lighting, and his preliminary designs, appeared in an article published by Scientific American. Thomas Edison Without a doubt, Edison had access to, and eagerly read this article. Giving Mr. Edison the benefit of the doubt, and stopping short of calling him a plagiarist, we can say that he invented the light bulb by making vast improvements to Swan's published, yet unperfected designs.

Swan, however, felt quite differently, as he watched Edison line his pockets with money made from his invention, and took Edison to Court for patent infringement. The British Courts stood by their patent award for the light bulb to Swan, and Edison lost the suit. The British Courts forced Edison, as part of the settlement, to name Swan a partner in his British electric company. Eventually, Edison managed to acquire all of Swans' interest in the newly renamed Edison and Swan United Electric Company.

Decide for yourself i guess but one thing you can say is that Britain and Germany have some serious modern inventions under thier belts.
