*** Alien: Covenant ***

It could have been covered already, but I saw on the A:C facebook page that they are doing 'a starwars' with this movie, in regards to the order of future releases. The post had quite a lot of people 'liking' it but im not sure if its valid or not.

So the order would be:
Prometheus.
NEW Untiled movie A
NEW Untiled movie B
NEW Untiled movie C
Alien:Covenant
Alien

Any truth?
 
Ill watch it as its part of the Alien franchise that being said id rather they pushed ahead with the next Alien film that is carrying on with Hicks / Newt characters.

Prometheus was an okay sci-fi but not a great Alien film thats all i took from it.

Indeed, it looks very much like the original alien. The same film, the same style of scene, just slight variation.
Bridging the gap by having a ship of idiots (prometheus) attacked and mostly wiped out by a xenomorph (alien).

I know where you're coming from Six. The ensemble cast seems lacking somehow which makes me feel uneasy as well but I wonder if the marketing is intentionally playing things down at this point.

The interactions did point to a kind of bitchy atmosphere and tensions between the crew so I'm hoping that Covenant will be more than pure horror.

The stand out thing was the illness which seems to be present before leaving?
 
It seems the criticism of Prometheus has pushed this back in the direction of the original film, but far too close for my liking. This feels like the way the force awakens was a reaction to the prequels...."Oh we better do another death star story line".

If this film is anything but mediocre I will be astonished. After seeing it I guarantee people will say "Oh yeah it was much better than Prometheus" but that is saying nothing the bar was set so low.
 
Looks like promethious to me just changed slightly. Needs some old school actors in as these actors look too normal/average and unknowns. Needs a decent setting too. Looks like the same alien world from past film isnt it which was boring. A outpost like the one from aliens would be so much cooler, somewhere where the xenomorph has made its home with loads of hiding places. Tbh all i want from aliens film is more of aliens 2.

Wish sigorney came back in the alien films, seems most people only liked the films with her in and me too tbh. It was nice having a story of one persons struggles dealing with the aliens.

Would be perfect end to alien films if she came back, somehow. Not a clone hopefully but like i said i dunno how. And have her discover that the w.. corp have found the aliens home planet and she goes there by sneaking onboard a crusier headed there to capture hundreds of queens of somit and she wants to stop em and somehow nuke the planet. That would be a good plot i think.

im confused with the trailer, i thought it ws going to carry on the story of Elizabeth Shaw, trailer looks kind of a remake of alien??

(1st trailer don't like watching all of them, as these days they give everything away)

Just noticed the name on the dog tag Daniels grabs has Shaw's name on it. So she is there - dead or alive. How deep the movie will go into things with her is unknown. Incidentally they're making a prequel book to Covenant which should be out this year.
