Does anywhere actually have the retail version of this game in stock? Wanna give it to my dad for Christmas but I don't feel comfortable giving him a piece of paper with a code written on it for Steam

Amazon have the steelbook pc version in stock, be a nice gift that.

Game Of The Year 2014!
This is hands down 2014's game, It has everything going for it from the Art design to the Audio to the Voice acting..

Must play the game on Hard, this is how the game was ment to be played..

+Superb Story and Acting
+Superb Audio design
+captures the atmosfear perfectly
+AI is very good least on hard, they do what you would expect them to do.
+Good balance of horror survival and shooting
+Graphics and performance - Single 290 @977/1250 and i7 2600k ran the game max out @1080p 120fps
+Good amount of game time

- = None

10/10

I agree with most of that except the voice acting , imho I thought the cut scenes were poo

Currently 50% off on Steam (£15.99).

Still a pretty weak deal, I've seen it at 50% off already on Steam round about the beginning of December.

Surely a 66% - 75% sale is due.

Anyone by chance heard anything of a Mantle update ?

I read some time ago that the devs would implement Mantle seeing as it's an AMD sponsored title.

Am I correct in assuming that this doesn't support SLI unless you use Nvidia Inspector?

Seems unlikely considering they haven't even added decent AA, plus the game runs well on low end hardware anyway.

Works perfectly with SLI
Only thing with SLI is you can't use the best AA

Really enjoying this! runs maxxed out on a 6950 (crossfire had issues as always)

about 6 hours in! one thing confuses me though! how do you tell which humans are friendly and which arent? i sneaked past a group and they started talking to me like nice people. then on my way back through they attacked me?

they looked the same but maybe they were different lol

What crossfire issue you have? My only issue I had was some computer terminal would display a black screen, to fix I would just alt tab out.

Apart from that the scaling with Crossfire was stunning.

yea that was my issue, all screens were just blank, alt tab didnt fix it for me and would get annoying! was a shame as was running great otherwise
