You could also watch Prometheus as it's a prequel to Alien and sort of shows how they came to be plus it will explain a scene in Alien and Alien Isolation

Any idea what the 600mb odd patch was? I can't find info on steam when it was downloading. Have googled, and nothing on reddit's alien subreddit.

Well a lot of people rave about the first one but I think it's mainly because it's "in" to go nuts about the first one.
I like them all and number 4 is my favourite after number 2.

Omg man, watch those movies now! IMO Alien 1, 2 and 3 are the best. Resurrection is complete tosh and Prometheus....well....hmm so so I guess. I hate - HATE - the ending to Prometheus. I wanted to punch Ridley in the face for the ending, its terrible. Big time terrible.

Also, before release Ridley kept on saying that Prometheus is not a prequel to Alien but a new story in a new universe when quite obviously - after youve seen it - it is a prequel.

Alien 1 - pant pooing scary, Aliens - lots of guns and action, Alien 3 - a mixture of action and scares but the worst out the 3 mainly due to the bad use of cgi which wasnt used in the first 2.

You need to watch the workprint edition of Prometheus, Adds like another 40'ish minutes and explains a lot, Pretty much all the deleted scenes edited back in and remastered, The engineer talks, Gives a proper intro to the film were you see dozens of engineers, Weyland has his own proper segment etc...I'm actually baffled why they didn't release it in the cinemas and cut out so much, If they didn't cut so much out the film would have gotten much better reviews.

The workprint edition is a fan edit i.e all the deleted scenes and extra scenes edited back in and remastered but going by the quality it's done by someone in the film industry as the quality is on par with any movie really.

Oh well, I still think it's brilliant and essential viewing if you plan to play this. Aliens gets watched more often, but it's a more fun movie.
