Alien: Isolation...

Finished this today! was great for the first half but really started to drag after that and felt way too long for what it is. started really well though

I agree, I expected 12-15 hours. I'm 17 hours in and it's already feeling overly long and slightly repetitive.

It does drag on a little, a very very good game but a bit samey. would have been good to be able to have a shootout to get yourself out of trouble more

Yea its still a great game compared to others like it, but after mid way it stopped giving you new elements and just felt like it was paced all wrong. Like back tracking for no real reason except to pan the length out, and the annoying walking bits in a suit made me rage :(

Played on hard which was fine up until the last 3 chapters and it sort of spiked, before that it felt normal tbh

I've just got to the point where I feel its going to start dragging. I'm 11 hours in. After a couple more hours I'm sure I'll be pretty bored of it.

Loved the first few missions, then I was getting a bit annoyed at dying so much, there was one level where I was killed so many times that it was just not fun. Back to loving it again now though that I've got the flamethrower, it is a great gaming experience. The tension is incredible.

If you are dying constantly, you aren't being sneaky enough.

Not true, and it's not that simple, you can still get killed while sneaking and hiding - which was fine the odd time, it even made it more exciting at first, but after about the 50th time, it was not fun.

Also the alien knocking you over nearly every time i flamethrowered it got very tired after the 20th time. These things would be better if more rare, instead of when they got repetitive. Still a great game, the tension is exquisite in parts but the annoyances are extremely annoying.

Just finished it on 40" TV, 5.1 and joystick - played only during nightime!

Amazing atmosphere- Alien was probably first horror movie I have watched when I was a kid, It was pretty scary and tension was all hours I played, therefore I wasn't probably bored as was scared most of the time and tried not to get caught lol.

Recreation of spaceship, tools, equipments, Music/ sound/ noise is pretty good and I really had feeling that I am going through all of it...

Game is different due to sneak-sneak, but half way through it gets more like an action,..I had full inventory and plenty of tools to make more "weapons", plus gun which kills androids and Fire-weapon...

10/10 Here, good brake from BF4 online and was something different ...Last Single player I have finished was Wolfenstein NO which I found pretty good too.

I didn't mind the alien knocking me over when I used the flamethrower on it as it learns that it doesn't actually hurt it, so ends up killing you regardless of how much you use it. If you used it 20 times without dying, you must be playing on easy :P

Just started playing it again after a couple month absence I'm on the part where you need to get the trauma kit I think I've died about 47 times, it's really beginning to become tedious, now I remembered why I stopped playing it lol.

Still a fantastic game nonetheless.

Same as. Still game of the year for me last year, but wow it's so annoying in parts.

I think I know why the sales figures are surprisingly low – you can’t buy a hard copy of it. I told my brother he should get it a while ago, he doesn’t have broadband so he can’t download a full game and he said he can’t find it in any of the shops. I checked online, and you can’t even seem to buy a hard copy online. Even amazon etc. only do digital download. Seems a bit bizarre. Not everyone on the planet has high-speed broadband. They must have lost a lot of sales due to this.

I must have took my time - just completed with a 25 hour play through total. I'd happily spend a lot less time playing multi player games if single player games were all as good as this. The whole package is nearly fault free.

I bought the physical copy @ release. Game, amazon, shopto.net all sold it @ launch for months PC-DVD Rom version on 2 x DVD's. There was also a steelbook editon collectors editon zavvi/amazon were selling.

I'm assuming you're just talking about PC? Boxed PC games always kind of run out in favour of digital these days. The 1 million is total sales, the game was on consoles too so plenty of hard copies going around.

I don't know which is worse, trying to avoid the alien - knowing he's going to be in your proximity or taking out the synthetics from mission 10 onwards!

I'm a big fan of the films and even I haven't bought this yet. I was initialy put off after Colonial Marines but after hearing Isolation was a good game, it still sounded like a long and frustrating game which I couldnt be bothered with. I'l get it in the next sale probably.

I avoided them as best as possible, on Hard they were too hard to kill usually, until I got the Bolt gun which tends to one-shot kill if you hit them in the head.

As usual ammo is limited though.
