Alien: Isolation...

With the username of weyland yutani and being a big fan of the movies, how have you not played this??? It can be bought from key sites very cheap and im pretty sure it was recently on GMG and Steam with a huge discount.

If you like run and gun shooting games, dont buy it but if you like the idea of recreating the atmosphere and suspense from the first Alien movie in a game, you will love it.

As a fan of the original film, the nostromo DLC is the prime reason for buying it to be honest. The escape from the ship playing as ripley and running through the steam when you don't have a clue where the alien is = wow.

Just got this game (thanks to a voucher deal with a friend's graphics card) and also an Oculus rift. Damn it's scary! I started it late at night and had to stop even before I'd met the darn alien. I'm actually there! On the spaceship! Wandering around.

I'm 32 hours into this game and really enjoy it. I'm enjoying it that much, I'm tempted to play it on hard once I've completed the current campaign!

I now really want a game which will be similar and stand to the same standard as Isolation - can't think of any! I've even installed AvP but it's nowhere near as good. It would look incredible with a new engine though.

I'm a big fan of the films and even I haven't bought this yet. I was initialy put off after Colonial Marines but after hearing Isolation was a good game, it still sounded like a long and frustrating game which I couldnt be bothered with. I'l get it in the next sale probably.

You must! I don't play many games as they are all the same generic crap aimed at your average teenager with 0 attention span, but this game it truly special, the best since DuesEx:HR imho (the only game that I played for laonger than a couple of hours since Dx:HR certainly). I don't think Alien franchise will ever get a game as good as this as sales were poor'ish despite high user reviews (9.1 on IGN vs their incredible 5.9 official score), so yeah...

I wouldn't say that until you've watched Alien 3 Assembly Cut... but I can't get my hands on it so what do I know.

Only problem with Alien 3 was they killed off the entire cast in one movie. Kind of sealed the fate for next Alien film that had to jump 100's of years into the future to explain how to bring Ripley back.

As much as I like Sigourney Weaver in the role I would like to see some fresh blood to carry on the movies.

I think the Amanda Ripley character could be just what the franchise needs to repair the damage of the last film.

I don't get the stick Alien 3 gets, I like it. A little contrived perhaps, but some good performances all round, Charles Dance in particular is v good in it. The whole aesthetic is good too. It's a very different film from Aliens, but stands up well against the first two imo.

Finally picked up Alien:Isolation yesterday and played a few hours. Love it, great twist on the first person format to be the hunted rather than hunter!

Couldn't get crossfire to play ball though, had lots of nasty flickering. It's running butter smooth maxed at 2560x1600 on a single 280x though so no biggie.
