Alien: Isolation...

Is Nostromo and Ripley edition the same or not? What the differences?

The Nostromo edition has one DLC - the Crew Expendable mission.

The Ripley Edition has two DLC - Crew Expendable and Last Survivor which is exclusive to the Ripley Edition for now, it will be available as a DLC some point in the near future I would guess.

The Last Surviror mission:

The second pre-order DLC mission, entitled Last Survivor, casts players as Ellen Ripley during the finale of the original Alien film, as she tries to set the Nostromo's self-destruct sequence and escape via shuttle to the Narcissus.

Console version though?
hell that's the X1 version and I see no low res textures there?
Mentioned earlier in the thread but yeah I played the X1 version as the console was next to me. The frame rates were really poor when panning around and the textures on a lot of objects such as pipes were very poor. Maybe it was an earlier build or something but it was never mentioned by the Sega staff there.

Isolation and Crew Expendable pre-loading.

Not a very big game considering how large Wolfenstein was!
Its supposed to be 35GB HD space I think there are 2 stage preloads that is the first one then the next one is for the rest someone on the Steam forums said they are not releasing the entire game as a preload just yet (to stop piracy I presume) so you may get another similar size preload on monday evening.

That looks to be the case as I can't even see properties of it in the library!

can't say I'm surprised by the review, surely anyone with a functioning brain cell could have worked out that after the initial scare factor it wouldn't be able to maintain that level of suspense and horror.

It wasn't even that scary at Expo!

But then according to some I'm such an internet tough guy :p :p :p

I am a bit disappointed that there are scripted player events, like I have seen in some clips. The one where Amanda is walking on a board bridge and it breaks and she falls down the shaft. Nothing to do except accept the situation. Can not jump or turn back

Yep mentioned that before many times :(

One thing you learn on the internet, gamers love to exagerate... a lot !

Take those videos of all those cringey melts who play amnesia and film themselves playing upto the camera trying to make out its so scary when in fact it's not scary in the slightest.

Just watching a PS4 twitch stream of it and the guy used a save point whilst being pursued by androids, to only have his neck snapped seconds after. When it reloaded, they were still stood next to him :D

I was hoping that would be the case, instead of simply running to each checkpoint to reset the encounters. Good stuff!

Watching a Space Walk section Twitch stream and it's amazing, all the sounds and ambient stuff going on. Can only imagine it in 21:9 :D

So excited.

Its frustrating to have this pre-loaded and can't play it whilst console gamers are sat playing it right now -.-

I have to say, after watching this twitch guy play it for a few hours, it looks amazing. The alien is far more dangerous than the hype videos make out. Guy had 3 androids after him and ran past a duct above him and the alien instantly killed him. Appears to hide in random ducts and you can see drool below it as a give away, but when you are running away from something, you don't stand a chance.

The next area he moved into was just him and the alien and it circled around him, he spoke to twitch on his mic, which gave his position away (yeah, the microphone works in game too) and the alien ran through the vent shaft he was just crawling into. Honestly nearly pee'd myself.

So glad I preordered, cannot wait to play it myself!
