Alien: Isolation...

Guys I'm stuck in medical really early on lol

I need to find a second keycard after whilst I'm looking for a trauma kit for the bint. The alien is all over this area and making my life very difficult and I can't seem to find the card I need to progress to the next area. Ran around for about 20 minutes and still can't find it! Ideas?

If it is Dr Morley then you need to go to the location where the map takes you. Then look at the white board which will tell you which rooms he operates out of. It will then update your game map.

A few hours done tonight, need to seal the server farm and peg it but upon exiting one door old Bertie was standing right there... Bah.

I am a Survivor! Little over 24 hours to do it all on the hard difficulty, trying to explore some and not rush through it, ended up with 41/50 on Steam including "Survivor" and I didn't get "100 Times Too Many" :p

Best game I have played in years though, the atmosphere created by the audio and the visuals on the 34" LG were fantastic.
Now going to watch Aliens as I watched Alien before playing it a few days ago :D

Oh and playing in a dark room with headphones and someone WiFi prints on the printer next to you is enough to give you a heart attack, still haven't recovered!

Hard Difficulty Code Errors

Original articles from Godling and MachoRob

The guy claims to see a positive effect or is it a placebo as the devs claim it will be and just show's the randomness of it behavior ?, also contains link to his updated files, I think he stated all the difficulty settings had errors.

Just watched the video and there is no difference in the game play. The version he's playing is pretty much the same as the one I've been playing.

Some good points on the notes though.

1-If the spelling mistakes are consistent, it doesn't matter
2-By changing these errors, you could be breaking the difficulty you've already selected - which makes it seem like its calmer/more sneaky << Because its on EASY!!!

I think it's very hard to tell because the alien does adapt to you, and it can behave in a quite different way on each run through, from the guys video I see is pretty much my experience in the medlab, obviously the way you play it is gonna make a big difference to the behaviour of the Alien, I prefer the sneaky approach and I rarely die, if I let my 15 year old lad play its a different story .

That's how I've been playing it and only died twice due to 'lack of concentration' and just started mission 6.

Gorgeously edited there bud, you've got the graphics tweaked beautifully too. How are you recording this and converting it into YouTube? You're doing it so fast.

I actually made my wife try listening to the game wearing my earphones in that very section. Poor thing.

I think Bob uses Shadowplay, records all the time when playing games and outputs to MP4 files which can go right onto youtube. One of the reasons I like Nvidia more at the moment it's an awesome feature.

Ah sorry Trent I missed your question! Eulogy is correct, ShadowPlay is what I use. If I was still on the 290X I'd have had to use Fraps which cannot record at native resolution without a small performance hit but nVidia's ShadowPlay has zero performance hit and the outputs are near 1:1 quality

Ah man, just did the flashback bit, that put a smile on my face. :)

Ah the Engineer's ship?
I was wondering wtf was going on for a moment then realised it was a flashback :D

How do you hold your breath on the PC version? There is no mapped key in the input section of the games settings and I've just been snuffed out of a locker again :(

Right, I have decided to get this.

Is it safe to buy via Kinguin?

Not sure about that place, but there is a thread on the PC Games section which will give you a list of all CD Key sites used by forum members. Could try there?!

I've done that part, even though it was bugged the first two times as she wouldnt read the actual board with the room names on so it wouldn't update my objective lol. I've found a door I need a keycard for in the next area after that dr guy got killed by the alien. Its that card I simply cannot find to save my life!

If the alien pays close attention to the lock you are in you get a prompt to hold your breath by holding right mouse button. If you miss the prompt, it rips the door off and kills you.

When you are in a locker hold down S to get to the back of it and then when the Alien is close it should prompt to press RMB (I think right) to hold breath.

Edit: I'm too slow, blame the F1 :(

Thinking about dropping the difficulty down to normal or easy, I'm not finding hard fun to play, its more frustrating than anything. As soon as i start moving the Alien starts to move to my location, and its getting a bit repetitive. It's not even scary no more because the Alien shows up all the time.

Yeah, I found this as well. Like most games, I don't think the mechanics are good enough to play on hard. I'm playing on normal

Thanks for that, but I've not seen a prompt at all :(

Normal isn't any better to be honest. I find myself hiding in lockers and under beds and what not just to get by. Movements are limited before he comes back your way - I guess not knowing the limitations doesn't help!
