AMD RDNA3 unveiling event

Big fail.

4080 rasta performance.
50% of 4080s RT performance.
Games with issues where it barely perfoms better than 6950xt, plus crashes
No DLSS3 answer for the time being.

Butbut it's 200$ cheaper!!! … while costing 1000$. You gotta be a clown to pay that price and miss all those features in that price range… or a big fanboy.

Time to wait for nextgen… neither the 4xxx nor the 7xxx are worth the asking price.

In rasta it doesn't loose as badly to the 4080 as it does to the 7900XTX, nor as often.

I had gone through all the reviews, counted up the unique games at the 3 resolutions and it appears Techpowerup pretty much gives it best showing. Others giving it worse. On balance it is very 50/50 in total so will very much be down to game from what can tell.

I haven't watched others yet, i the first thing i usually do is just look at the TPU charts because its quick and easy, but also because they have a fair and extensive mix of games.

I mean they have Cyberpunk and Control, they also have FC6, they don't have MW2 in which the 7900XTX crushes the 4090.

I will have a look at others later.

I was expecting it to be a bit faster, but not so much that i'm too disappointed, and i don't really care about $1000 GPU's TBH, it is cheaper than Nvidia equivalents, i think the 4070Ti now will be $900 because the message they are getting right now is it can be, so the 4070 $800, the 4060Ti $700.

I think the 7700XT will be $550, and that to me if far more palatable than $700.

PS: @pete910 says "get your arse on Discord" :)

If the Ref card is priced at £999.00 its a saving of £200 over a 4080fe but i have a feeling Ref cards will be more like £1099+ and AIB cards may reach £1250+ which makes the 7900xtx just not worth it. the ref design with coil whine and power spikes exceeding the 4080 does not go with AMD's efficiency claim's at all.

Are there any over clocked reviews of AIB cards yet?
