AMD Zen 2 (Ryzen 3000) - *** NO COMPETITOR HINTING ***

Hard to say tbh 3900x will be using 2 chiplets thats 100% sure and cause of that design its possible it will have less/core problem with heat when pumping volts than 1 chiplet cpu. I think it can handle more volts cause of this

Which is why everything's if.
End of the day, if 3900X has best core for core performance, then it's the better gaming chip. Because it's still all just basic logic.

VIA is trying to make a core which is comparable to Zen:
https://www.tomshardware.com/news/via-chinese-x86-soc-2019,36209.html

This is really strange from Toms Hardware.

They already wrote an article stating that VIA are using AMD's Zen IP to build their own X86 CPU's, it's a joint venture.

Now they are writing it as if VIA are developing their own X86 CPU's independently from AMD to Compete, this is not what they say in the second article but the way its written leaves you with no other impression.

These two articles were written by two different authors, its really odd to see how two different writers can lead the reader down different paths.
Paul Alcorn writes the same news as its happening while Leon Chan writes it like he wants you to believe its an independent competitor with AMD in its sights.

Paul Alcorn is right, its a joint venture between VIA and AMD.

Unless the extra chiplet has an impact on gaming performance, i mean it could...

There is actually two CPUs being developed AFAIK. One is that Zen derived one,and the other is this:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zhaoxin
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMD–Chinese_joint_venture

The article you linked to is Hygon as a partner not VIA:
https://en.wikichip.org/wiki/hygon

So the Zhaoxin is based on Zen,and the KX6000/KX7000 are VIA developed cores:
https://www.anandtech.com/show/13388/zhaoxin-shows-x86-compatible-kaixian-kx6000

They are "X86 compatible". So China is codeveloping two cores, one with AMD and one with VIA.

However,AMD has stopped the joint venture now:
https://www.techspot.com/news/80376-no-zen-2-you-amd-not-extend-x86.html

I expect its due to the recent China-US issues.

Ah ok thanks :)

We can apply logic?
If facts transpire that the 3800X has higher performing per core performance, it's inevitable it's going to perform better in games. You can't force a game to use more threads/cores........

Sure if a game can max out a 3900X then it's going to perform better than a 3800X. But this is all basic logic.

Unless you're just having a poor attempt at trolling.

Logic or whatever you want doesn't change the fact you don't know...Its a very simple concept...

I read enough nonsense in this thread already....Why don't you just wait and see....Mr Spock :p

The simple concept is you're trying to deny facts.
If X is true then Y is the outcome.
If Y is true than X is the outcome.

That's what I'm saying and is an absolute.

Unless the extra chiplet has an impact on gaming performance, i mean it could...

Whatever the differences are that will affect performance good or bad will affect its core for core performance, making it either better core for core or worse. The one with the better core for core will be better for gaming.
