AMD Zen 5 rumours

It's ridiculous AMD even wrote that considering they made the X3D which is dedicated to gaming and will crap all over that once the 9800X3D is out, and that won't be that far in the future. Hell even the current X3D ones put that to shame when it comes to gaming.

Not quite sure what you are saying but the AMD slides market these CPUs as for gaming and content creation and market them under "Gaming leadership".
The CEO herself on stage, live standing in front these slide's did the marketing:

Where she said the following:

In some of them you actually see like blender that take advantage of the AVX 512 instruction throughput.

7:40
We're actually seeing up to 56% fasterthan the competition. And in 1080p gaming,we know all of our fans love gaming.

The 9950X delivers best in class gaming performance across a wide range of popular games.

They had 2 months to revise this or walk this back and the copium that there's a communication error between these departments is laughable.

Probably two different departments/teams, with poor internal communications, and so you ask the same question to AMD but depending on who answers, you get two completely different answers

This is without a doubt always the case. Having worked for big organisations before each department is often working against another. The engineers at AMD are probably pulling their hair out over whatever the marketing team say and do.

Marketing's job is usually to spin anything they can into as big advantage/good news that they can, even if it's in reality almost nothing.

Steve standing is a bad sign and after watching the video it seems like AMD is... well... being AMD, as usual. Nothing new, even though it's not good - every time their competition (be it NVIDIA in the past or Intel currently) mess something up, AMD seems to be trying to compete with that and mess things up even more so. Often succeeding... :/

Steve is right about AMD mishandling, but I disagree thatn Zen 5 is a flop

Watching HUB you get an impression that Zen 5 is pointless useless expensive POS worse than Bulldozer.
No. It is an improvement over Zen4, just not that impressive in gaming and badly priced. Bad launch pricing is a feature with AMD, please attack it more! But product itself is good.

are AMD worried about poor Zen 5 sales? maybe, but they are competing with themselves ATM and it probably leaves them with more Epyc supply :). More money there than DIYer's

They released a new range of CPUs and sales have been dreadful, surely that is a flop at least for now until the prices come down.
