AS SSD Benchmark benchmarks!

well this is my first SSD a Crucial Real SSD 128g c300 new system as well core i7 3.06 and an Asus Rampage III x58 motherboard

That's kind of weird as it looks like my SATA II I7 920 on Rampage II is much better than your SATA III

hmmm maybe not setup rite need to read up on it at bit more

Ok getting there manged to find one bug holding it back which was that is you install while already in AHCI mode some reason some kind of driver was missing which slowed it down
Turned to IDE went in to windows it installed new hardware then logged off put it back in AHCI mode and

Going to have t do a new install in a few days i'll do some other testing then

Intel 120GB G2 with Vista 64-bit

37.9 GB used with a new clean install (just got drive today).

I'm a bit worried about the low score compared to other posts. This is using Vista Home Premium if that makes a difference, and RST version 9.6.0.104 released 23-03-2010.

Your 4K-64Thrd reads are rather low...

Do you have write caching enabled in Device Manager?

Yes there is a tick for "Enable write caching on the disk" and no tick for "Enable advance performance".

Read this on Intel website. Not got IMSM installed, only RST.
Do Intel SSDs need special driver support?
No. The standard drivers for any HDD will support Intel SSDs as drop-in components, such as those bundled with Windows*. However, for best performance, a driver that supports SATA Native Command Queuing (NCQ) is recommended, such as the Intel® Matrix Storage Manager (IMSM) driver from Intel.


Note The Windows Vista* driver has a bug which does not allow NCQ on Intel SSDs. For Vista*, only IMSM is recommended. An update will be provided when this issue has been resolved.

Uninstalled the 9.6.0.1014 RST and tried 10.1.0.1008 instead today.

Just to rule out software and background activities I tried in Safe Mode. And result seem slightly better.

i've upgraded my 80Gb Intel G2 SSD to a brand spanker C300 128Gb and here's the results:

First screenie is using standard MS AHCI drivers - I noticed WEI only scored a max of 5.9 with these drivers on the C300 - even the Intel G2 could get 7.8!

Second screenie is using the AMD SATA AHCI drivers - nice improvement over the MS AHCI drivers and WEI is up at 7.9! woohoo

Didn't realise there would be such a big improvement over the Intel G2 drives! - its quite noticeable in the operating system. AMD SATA AHCI drivers give a slight increase in performance on both SSD's - roughly +10Mb/s

Oh and with the Intel G2 - It used to hate my AMD SATA Drivers (BSOD city) - proves AMD and INTEL are still enemies lol.
 
anyone out there on the new asus p67 boards using a raid setup that can push 500mb? could you let me know if the onboard sata 6gb ports can handle such speed? i have a thread in the motherboard section which woried me about p67 based on a bit tech article.

Do they look OK? They appear to be consistent with other G2's, sometimes a little better than others, sometimes a little worse.
